SOLVED. Science fiction story about pyschic group trying to find olympus [s]

This is a book that is at least written by 1999 as i read it in Jr. High.
Its about a group of physic childern ruled over by equally powerful adults. The adults at first can link their minds together in a spider monster to dominate the children. They are looking for Olympus they want to be gods.
They end up getting there I am not sure how. After that I am not sure what happens the adults split up. I think the main character kills the female adult. They end up finding all the greek gods and they arent what the expect. They can fly and do all kinds of different powers mainly psychic but later they can shapeshift.
It was a paper back adult book maybe it had a picture of the sky a girl flying in the sky?
Thats about all I can think of thanks for any help!

I don't know if that's the OP's book or not, but it looks interesting Andria. I've ordered it from PBS for myself and will give it to my grandson's when it arrives.
