Help! Formatting A Manuscript

I am writing a short story, and i have been asked to include a header on each page with the story title and a word count.

Would the word count be the number of words in the entire story at the top of each page? (or would it be the number of words on ONLY that page??). Having not attempted to submit a piece of work in such a strict formatting as yet, i am new to all this and so would like to make sure that i do things correctly.

No, I have never been asked to put the word count on each page but the formatting I use anyway, it's how my publisher likes manuscripts - 4cm margin all round, double spaced, indents (use tab key)left justified, I would have said that the word count needs only be put on the first page when the story is complete. For Header just go to insert and add header!
