I like walking too, Hubby and I bowl too. It breaks up the week. I have a sports car with big doors so I always park far away from the stores to get more walking in.
Walking and yoga ... however, right now it's hard to walk on ice! Maybe I should take up ice skating, LOL! While I walk I talk to my companion - Baxter, my tweenie long-haired dachshund - and enjoy the silence!
Pilates and yoga are my exercises of choice. My favorite is Pilates. I was going to do some tonight (all you need is a mat and some floor space), but I'm feeling a bit under the weather. I'm the official errands-runner in my office (I work on a university campus), so I get plenty of walking in. ;)
I also like the elliptical when I get a chance to use one. I have bad knees, so it's not as hard on my joints as jogging (which I loathe, anyway). If I had the room to get an elliptical for my home, I would.
I love walking and swimming. I can't do some of exercise that involve putting loads of pressure on knees, cause I had an operation on one knee and it hurts bad, when I overdose the exercises.
Walking, stationary bike, wii fit all in the winter. In the Spring and Summer, golf and tennis. I wish I were still young enough to play soccer.
I need to get back on the elliptical again at the gym. I remember that for the time spent...that gave me an excellent workout.
Favorite form is dance (currently belly dance). I want to have fun and not realize I'm actually "working out".

It fuses belly dancing, salsa, and a bunch of other dance styles. You're exhausted and dripping with sweat when it's over, but you want to keep going for just one more song. :)
I prefer long, quiet walks, but as that is not always possible during winter I recently purchased a walk-at-home video. It's more of a workout than one would think! I also got my bike fixed up last summer and hope to get back into that once the snwo melts.
The zumba dvd's are great! There are 4, beginner, abs and thighs, advanced and power. Lots of fun too!
My favorite exercise used to be hiking and dancing (and, in the 1990s, I used the Firm workout tapes. Contrary to what the name might imply, it didn't involve running from mafia lawyers a la Grisham.) In 2002, I contracted a chronic illness, CFS, that (due to joint pain and fatigue) makes exercise difficult. I finally discovered that bicycling and gardening worked best for my. We generally bike on a "Rails to Trails" bike trail, since western PA is very hilly, and the trails are all railroad grade - sometimes challenging, but not impossible. Then last summer I developed back problems that required surgery. Fortunately, I've been working with a great physical therapy team who put together an exercise program that strengthens my back and core muscles. That, coupled with recently adopting a canine companion have me back on track with exercise. I'm looking forward to biking and gardening in the spring. There's nothing like an exercise induced endorphin release!
Jill - I did take a Zumba class once. I didn't enjoy the teacher so I didn't enjoy the class. I will have to try a new teacher one day as I did like the moves/concept behind the class.

I live in a college town, and everyone that I've talked to who attends the class for the first time, if they've taken it before elsewhere, says that our instructor is honestly the best instructor they've had. She makes eye contact with you and smiles encouragingly (without calling everyone's attention to you), gives great non-verbal cues, and always seems to be having the time of her life. I really hope you can find a teacher like her. :)
Turning pages (quickly as to maximize the "burn")... in the distant days of exercise... walking and yoga.
I enjoy walking even more now that I have my iPod. I can listen to music or podcasts. Lately I've been listening to some of Scott Sigler's podcasts and they make me want to keep walking to hear more of the story. I walk on my lunch hour so I don't have to do it when I get home from work.I also like to exercise with weights and do sit ups. I learned a routine that maximizes muscle buildup and fat burn in a small amount of time. I don't have a lot of time in the evening to devote to exercise.
