Quick question: do we make our own scavenger hunt or do you?"
I'm going to be making it, I'm just working on the list now. I'm trying to make it as random as possible. With some easy finds and some harder somes.
I'd take ideas from people too if they have any.

I'm hoping that we can get most people interested in participating.
The list should be up tomorrow for sure.

Do you mean we have to find a sentence these items were used in? Or do bookcovers count too? Just want some clarification in case I decide to attempt this.
You are meant to find them while reading, if the book mentions one of them then you may check them off your list
Heather wrote: "You are meant to find them while reading, if the book mentions one of them then you may check them off your list"I still don't get what you are saying...
Okay, I'll give an example.
Say you're reading Breaking Dawn. There is a wedding in it right? (lets day it's on page 100)
Therefore you can cross off #20 from the list because you found it in a book.
Does that make sense?

Oh how fun! And should we keep track of our list here on this thread and then just edit it as we go along? I'm so gonna play! :)

Yap, you can make a post on here and as you go along update it when you find things. On the participants list in comment 3 if you click your name it will take you to your comment once you've started your list. You can also leave other comments about your progress in new posts. And discuss with each other how you're doing.

OK, I'll give it a try. A vampire though? That's going to be a tough one for me--not really a vampire-reading person. But please sign me up!
I'm in. Sign me up.Just one thing though - with the 'find your name':
*Can it be spelt differently or does it have to be exact?
*OR... if you use a short version of your name like Alisha = Ali; Elizabeth = Lizzie? etc .. is that ok?

There does not have to be one in the book, it could just be mentioned in it.

Alternate spelling and short forms are fine too

I also have a question about 'find your name'. What if your name is foreign? What should I do? Pick a name that's closer to my real name? (ie. Haley?)

A couple more clarifications:*A sporting event -
Can this be playing a sport in say PhysEd class or in the park OR is it especially a spectator-must event?
*Shakespearean reference -
Can this be a mention of Shakespeare himself as a writer or does it have to be a passage or something from one of his works?
*Also, "Book Lover"
Does this have to be worded like this eg: 'I am a book lover'; or can it just be implied, eg:'I'd rather read a book than hang out...etc'
Thanks.
Oh! And what if we have started the book like prior to this but complete it within the confined of the time limit... can we use references from the pages we have already read prior to the start date.. or only pages read within the time limit..?I'm curious. Others may also be in the same situation.

50. A forest (Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult & Samantha van Leer, p.43) Sept'12
Hmmm... at the risk of sounding dense, I don't know how to update my list. I've gone to comment 3, my name's on the list, but I can't click on it and find my list to update. What am I doing wrong?

My name is in comment #3, but nothing happens when I click it. It's not a hot link. Is there something else I need to do?

That's because it doesn't seem you signed up for the scavenger hunt yet.
I must be a slow learner. I went back to message 9 and 16 and I see the list, but how do I make it MY list? I must be missing a step.

#49 A body - i take this as like a dead body?"
Yes re-reads count as long as you re-read them in the time frame of the challenge.
