Okay someone please tell me that is not the final draft, that it is just an idea until the final cover is created. It is ugly, especially in comparison to Across the Universe and A Million Suns. Like really ugly. Agree? Or disagree?

Yeah, it doesn't really follow the cover formula the other two books followed. But that could be because 1) they're entering a whole new territory that isn't space, so maybe they ditched the mysteriously glamorous space concept, or 2) this is just a buffer cover and the real cover has yet to show itself.
I know I hate it too. But this does follow the concept of some of the paperback versions of this series. I think this style might have been the first of the covers. Here's a picture: (http://thatcovergirl.files.wordpress....)Across the Universe is by far my favorite book cover even if it's not by all time favorite series so I HOPE they make a new cover!
Like Jessica said, there are already similar covers for Across the Universe and A Million Suns. I just hope that they make a cover like the pretty versions for Shades of Earth...
The german cover it's much better and plausible than this green on english version. why not her? It's basically the same concept of the other two.
I prefer the star field covers of the first 2 books, but as seen in Jessica's link... it was probably done to match the paperback covers. I thought I read in Beth Revis's blog that she really liked the cover to A Million Suns, especially since it had some double eagle symbol on it. So maybe she likes it, but it seems from all the authors I follow that they have little input on the covers even in the best of circumstances.
Look at this - Czech cover of Shades od Earth....

Carthya wrote: "wow we should use the czech ones for the originals (english) ones instead haha" I'm from Brazil and I really liked the cover from here, look: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6T-m4cO13sA... Much better from all of it.
There are multiple covers for all the books, the paperback cover for this one was significantly better. The other two did have similar covers to this one released, but I haven't really seen them anywhere.
This cover made it look like they were still trapped in the ship with all that metal in the cover. A decent depiction of Centauri Earth would have been much much better.
