I liked Clarisse. She seemed to be with it. I felt sorry for Mildred and was left wondering why she was so miserable.
Montag was all sorts of places trying to figure himself out and how he was supposed to fit in with this dystopian life.


Interesting point, Kara! I never thought of that.

I like this book so far. It kept me interested without telling me too much about anything. I also like the refreshing writing style which I guess was just normal for the time it was written.
I'm not quite done with the whole section, but I think the old woman definitely symbolizes a lot, like the dying older generation and how those who remember the "good ol' days" are the ones that rebel usually.

I'm still trying to figure out how the society is set up. The government doesn't seem completely authoritarian, but at the same time, people do what they are told without realizing it. It seems like they have limited freedoms but everything is planted by the government. Mildred's life reminded me of the theme song of Weeds.
