I so want to see Danny confronting Jaime. After she let her mad brother die, I am curious to see what she will do with the man who killed her crazy dad and got her into exile.

I'd like to see Daenerys finally going back to Westeros. For some reason, I don't like her current situation all that much. Her chapters were not my favorites in A Dance With Dragons. Still good, don't get me wrong, but not as enjoyable as in the previous books.I would like to see more action beyond The Wall, which is something that will definitely happen, in my opinion.
Oh, and I'd also like to see Ramsay Bolton die a slow and painful death!
I'd like Jon to find out about his parentage, and him being half Targarian and half Stark. I want him and Danny to rule the Seven Kingdoms with her Dragons. I want Bran to be able to walk and be the Warden in the North. I want Arya to become an assasine and to give Cersei a painfully slow death. I want revenge for all the Starks that were murdered and most of all I want for the remaining Starks to find each other.

I too think that Jon is half Targaryen and half Stark. Many things suggest that this theory is likely to be wrong, but many more actually encourage it.I believe that Prince Rhaegar and Lyanna Stark were in love and ran together. The official story tells that Rhaegar kidnapped Lyanna but, at least from what you hear about him throughout the series, that seems highly unlikely.
Then there's Eddard's flashback: Lyanna on "her bed of blood" asking him to promise her something. Sounds to me like she just gave birth to Jon, and asked Ned to never reveal the child's true identity, fearing the wrath of Robert Baratheon, who loved her very much, but hated Rhaegar more than anything else in the world.
So Eddard Stark, one of the most honorable men in the Seven Kingdoms, a man who no one thought could ever cheat on his wife, was forced to claim Jon as his own bastard son.
It just proves how awesome Eddard stark is ! this is probably correct and all but i want to know how this all started, all the sudden its all everyone talked about? who figured this out! i want to know , i certainly never gave it a thought until i heard about it
Eddard was definitely my favorite character, and I love how most characters in the series still admire and respect him. His nobility is actually one of the things that led me to believe in the theory I posted above. That and his reluctance to talk about Jon's mother to anyone. Ser Barristan Selmy's stories about Rhaegar simply made it clearer in my mind.
Maybe I'm just overthinking it, and I'll end up being wrong. Still, I think it would be a pretty cool turn of events.
No i think you will be right! Probably Martin was planning it all along and will only make it not happen now because people put it together he seems like a kind of author that would do such a thing. He did make us love all the starks and we all know what happens to them lol!

Oh!! Yes, gotcha! I thought when you said "Dragon" you literally referred to a winged, scaly, lizard! But yeah, I'm familiar with that "other' dragon you mentioned. :-)

Whatever happens, I do not think the end will be anything like; "And they lived happily ever after". It just doesn't seem to be Martin's style for these books.A problem that's haunted me for a few books is that there doesn't seem to be a strong "faction" to cheer for. Not since Robb was murdered and the North fell. Like the rest of you, I like characters, but their bases of support seems too small to seriously contend for the Iron Throne. So what if Daenerys shows up with 3 dragons? Where is the popular support she needs to rule successfully? Yes, she is reasonably well-meaning, but no less autocratic than other rulers. Events in "A Dance With Dragons" must surely have hammered home how difficult her position is.
Very wisely put Peter i couldn't agree with you more. From the first book she has been wanting to go back home as she puts it..From book one it has been hear goal to sit on the iron throne.. I don't know how i will feel if she never gets there. Personally i don't care who he puts on the throne anymore, he has killed to many of my favorite characters for that to matter, the Lannister boy can keep it for all i care. All i want is a stark reveunge!!!!!

Please don't kill off Jon Snow - he's my hero! We've already lost too many strong interesting characters..... Like many others I don't think I'll bother with the next books if he is really dead.

I get confused - which one was he?There was the old blind maester at the wall... wasn't he a Targaryen and then there's the young Prince who was supposed to have been killed as an infant - but it wasn't him after all.
Was Rhaegar Daenerys' older brother?
Have just finished ADWD and I'm quite convinced that Jaime is about to return as one of the undead, along with the Maid of Tarth (not to mention Catelyn) - there will soon be as many dead people wandering about as live ones!
Perhaps everyone will be raised from the dead in a grand finale :-)
You've read all five books in this series and you don't know who Rhaegar Targaryen is? Wow, Ruth, he is mad king's son, brother of Daenerys and Viserys. He was defeated and killed by Robert Baratheon in the battle of Trident. His alleged abduction of Lyana Stark triggered the rebellion which toppled Targaryens. I've always thought he's one of the main characters in ASoIaF series even though he's dead.

...hmmm well maybe I don't retain the relationship info as well as you do! I need something like a family tree to look at I guess and don't tell me to read the detailed breakdown at the back of the books, I tried that and it sent me to sleep after a couple of pages. It would be a great twist if he does turn out to be Jon's father, but only of course, if Jon is saved in the ongoing story. Then he can marry Daenaerys and they can defeat all the nasty elements and ride off into the sunset on the backs of their fabulous dragons.... (and if any dragons get knocked off I will definitely put the books back on the shelf!)
but Rhaegar is often mentioned in all 5 books,you know. Maybe there are to6 many characters in the series that you just haven't paid much attention to him.
Yes - you're right, plus I tend to be too eager to get to the next bit and possibly don't concentrate enough on the content. I also find some of the names rather similar (Rhaenys, Rhaego, Rheagal etc) but I did think that he was Daenerys brother - so I'm not a complete ignoramus :-) It's great to talk it through - no-one I know is interested unfortunately, so I was glad I found this thread.
I want Jon to live. I'd like to see Daenerys forging a bond with her dragons and going to Westeros. I hope Arya becomes an assassin. And I'd like to see more on the others.
Agree on all points! I'd also like to see Sam become a great Maester and return to help Jon and Daenerys regain the seven Kingdoms. I'd like to know what happened to Jaime and the Maid of Tarth - but I don't want him to forgive Cersai, she doesn't deserve it. Also Tyrion should come back and become the Hand of the King and Sansa will realise that she's actually lucky to have him and realises that she cares for him, so that he finally gets a beautiful woman who truly loves him.... I'm a sucker for happy endings :-)
Here is a list of things I would like to see happen in the upcoming books:1. The realization that dragons should be weaponized and that dancing with them is silly and dangerous.
2. More MAGIC and shit.
3. The Duke of Burger, Nephew of the Burger King, Having it his way.
4. Tasteful pictures of nude women to break up the monotony.
5. An explanation as to why Legolas doesn't sink in the snow.
- Jon Snow resurrecting and becoming Azor Hai reborn with Melisandre's help.- Dany coming to Westoros with her dragon/dragons.
- A big war in the end in which every character plays a role :)
The Wall falling down and the white walkers set loose.
For Brienne NOT to betray Jaime, for Theon to be saved in some way even if that means someone putting him out of his misery, Jon to be a dragon rider, the remaining starks to be reunited and for Sansa to be the Queen of the North or of all Westeros...there is more but i'll just stop there.
Obviously I'd like Jon to be resurrected, but not at the expense of falling under Melisandre's power. I really don't think Mel is a force for good against the evil of the Others. That conflict just can't be that simple.I also want to see Aegon revealed as a Blackfyre (I absolutely believe in the Illyrio/Varys/Aegon Blackfyre conspiracy), and for Dany to defeat him in the upcoming Dance of Dragons, as hinted at in the Arianne preview chapter on GRRM's website.
Also Arya needs to come back to Westeros ASAP.

- I want to see Roose Bolton, Ramsay and Theon get theirs.- I want to see the Freys eradicated from the planet and history for their role in the Red Wedding.
- I want to see Bran triumphant.
- I want to see Arya assassinate Cersei (since Tywin has already been taken care of).
- I want to see Benjen Stark back.
- There was a fat guy who's been loyal to the Starks (Manderly?) He was poor and in hiding in ADWD. I'd like to see his loyalty rewarded.
- I want to see Stannis's jester's story played out. He's half-mad and keeps singing that he knows.

I want to learn more about Varys' plan, he became the most interesting person for me after reading the last book.I want Tyrion to stop looking for his whore and be with Sansa(it's my sick imagination speaking:D), they make a good couple, I think.
I want Arya to meet with Jaqen H'ghar. And just more Arya.
I hope John is dead, I used to like him but, as for me, being lord commander just isn't for him. Also I want Cersei to finally die.
Oh, and Jaime should find himself a wife(screw the kingsguard) and f**king stop complaining about his arm and man up.
And, I think(or I hope...not sure yet:D), Daenerys will never cross the Narrow Sea.
And also winter is already here and not going anywhere, so it's time to start a fight with white walkers.
