I haven't read Under the Never Sky, but from reviews I've read it reminded me a bit of The Last Book in the Universe, which I really enjoyed. You could also check out Uglies.

I went right from Under the Never Sky to For Darkness Shows the Stars and it was a perfect transition. Both are post apocalyptic stories but For Darkness is also a retelling of Jane Austen's Persuasion. Both are exceptionally written and the stories, while similar in genre, are very different. You should definitely check it out, even if it's not your next read.

I second that one. I loved For Darkness Shows the Stars and Diana Peterfruend's other novels too. And you don't have to have read Persuasion to understand what's going on. It's influenced by Persuasion, not a direct retelling.

For Darkness Shows the Stars is my favorite kind of retelling because it hits on all of the major themes and plot points of Persuasion, but it's also different enough so that it isn't just a copy. It's a good suggestion because it's similar to Under the Never Sky in that it's a similar sort of sci-fi/post-apocalyptic.

What is it that you liked about Under the Never Sky that has you looking for similar books? The genre? The setting? The characters? The alternating POV?
