Great. Thanks Melanie. I think I got a book that will fit perfectly. I was sorting through a stack of Harlequin Desire's that I got off freecycle (free!) and one is The Last Lone Wolf by Maureen Child. The hero is an ex-marine who has to make good on a promise to look after a fallen comrade's sister.

If anyone can find it, I know of a triple bonus book. Jenna's Cowboy Hero by Brenda Minton. The heroine is just home from Iraq where she was wounded. I got a free sample (first chapter) of this book last year and it was good, but neither I nor my library has it to read the entire book.
