Okay, I'm out. Or reset to zero. I found two books at a garage sale for 50 cents each. I had to drive to Kansas to drop my boys off for their summer visitation. They wanted to hit the thrift shop there before it closed. Got 10 books for $1 plus one more that was $1. After swapping the boys and needed to kill time til a storm front blew past, I stopped in at their used book store. I found 2 books at $2.50 each and 3 for 25 cents each (bargain bin). In total I got 18 books for $8.75 (for an average of 49 cents a book). That particular thrift shop has a bookcase of $1 books, the rest are 25 cents each or 10 for $1, so of course, I make sure I get 10 even if I put a couple immediately up on PBS or set aside for a garage sale.

I'm in but if nobody wins before July 9th, then I'm out. I am NOT missing my library's annual summer sale with 76,000 used books for 50 cents each!! lol

lol...the way we read, i'm sure someone will get it...but i added an extra week since it was over the 5k page count...i'm in but not counting any pages until tomorrow - i need to hit up borders to look for a book my trainer recommended on a good diet to try

Nebraska. The sale is held every July. Paperbacks are 50 cents. Most hardbacks are $1. And sunday, as many books as you can fit into a bag for $1. (I can fit about 50 or so in a paper grocery sack stuffed as solid as a brick! lol) I've heard of used book dealers from as far away as Montana that bring a trailer down for the sale and others schedule vacations around it. Admission is $5 for friday night but it's free to the public on saturday and sunday. Magazines are 10 cents a pound. The nice thing about our sale (besides the prices) is that they've sorted the books so you can go to the tables with all romance books, history, fiction, children's books, etc. I go friday nights and have to wait an hour or more in a line that goes around the block and down the alley, waiting for it to open. If you're one of the early ones you can grab a shopping cart, otherwise you can just grab a box off a huge stack. They walk up and down the line to see who needs a dealer number which I get. All this means is that you register for a number and once you fill a box you drop it off at a special table. They put your number on the box and while you continue to shop they count up how much your box will cost and set it aside. When you're done, they collect all your boxes and haul them for you to the checkout table. Yes, I get enough books to use that free service! lol

see, i loved the first KMM highlander...but maybe it was just the voiceover since I listened to it on audio and i'm doing the same with this new one...

yeah, so I went to borders to get the book my trainer recommended...I walk in and i'm confronted with a $4 trade paperback sale...and most of these books normally go for between $14 and $18, i couldn't resist...my whole batch (including the book I went to get and one other I was looking for - full price) was just over $70...
