Thanks Briansgirl, I'm looking forward to the next one :)

Finished Eating for England The Delights and Eccentricities of the British at the Table by Nigel Slater - 153 pages
Finished Mash A Novel About Three Army Doctors by Richard Hooker - 163 pages
Total: 316 pages

542 pp.: Lover Enshrined by J.R. Ward Oct. 17 ***1/2
I had to force myself to continue with this book , but am glad I did - the last 1/4 of the book was worth it. Phury has gotten cheated in so many ways in this series, including in this book, but at least the ending really was about him - and in a way that brought cry-for-happy tears to my eyes.
Added to:
384 pp.: Family Blessings by LaVyrle Spencer Oct. 16 *****
This is a real tear-jerker, but it is so-o-o good!
448 pp.: O Jerusalem by Laurie R. King Oct. 15 ****
38 pp.: The Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allan Poe Oct. 14 ****
Total Pages = 1412
Will post a new challenge later today

Kenjii, can you guess why I chose 1666 for # of pages?!

It's late October in Cabot Cove, and as Halloween approaches, something strange is in the air. The arrival of a self-righteous, fire-and-brimstone spiritual medium has some townspeople on the lookout for curses and evil omens; a reclusive, eccentric woman has others whispering that she is a real-life witch; and the upcoming annual Halloween party has Jessica Fletcher frantically searching for the perfect costume. Then the whole town ends up spooked when the alleged witch ends up dead in the graveyard, and everyone at the party is a suspect. Jess takes it upon herself to stir through a witches' brew of motives--and concocts a scary scheme of her own to make sure a guilty ghoul doesn't get away with murder....

How's this for irony?! I created this challenge, but I can't find a Halloween book in my TBRs! Still looking...

Blackwork (a needlework mystery) by Monica Ferris (new release)
A Hole in Juan - An Amanda Pepper Mystery by Gillian Roberts
Poisoned Tarts by G.A. McKevett
and the one I knew I had
Murder, She Wrote: Trick or Treachery by Jessica Fletcher and Donald Bain

All Saints, All Souls, and Halloween by Catherine Chambers (31 pages x 2) = 62 pages
Horrible Harry at Halloween by Suzy Kline (53 pages x 2) = 106
Total = 168 pages

323 pp.: Queen of Dragons by Shana Abe Oct. 19 (****)
Well, this had a black dragon, but definitely no mention of Halloween

Thanks for searching these out for me, Kate, but if I can't find one in my TBRs, too bad for me. I have over 100 unread books, there should be something!

Hehe. Sweet deal BJ. The page count is an awesome pick. I like the bonus idea. Too cool.

Welcome Holly! Any questions feel free to ask me, BJ or Briansgirl =D.

All Saints, All Souls, and Halloween by Catherine Chambers (31 pages x 2) = 62 pages

BJ Rose = 323 pages
Briansgirl = 434 pages
Jane = 455 pages

455 pages - Lover Revealed by J.R. Ward - 20/10/09 *****
Total = 455 pages

I chose three used books and got:-
1. Poison Study - Maria V. Snyder
2. Magic Study - Maria V. Snyder
3. Fire Study - Maria V. Snyder

I love the Study series! I hope you enjoy them.

Somebody has been saving up her Halloween books!!!

I only have one that I own, the Murder She Wrote one. The others I scrouged from my search of the local public library. I havn't won a challenge yet. Perhaps if I get double credit for page counts I can catch up and pass y'all. lol
I read one children's book on the history of Halloween/All Hallows Eve (Oct 31), All Saint's Day (Nov 1) and All Soul's Day (Nov 2). One children's book (Horrible Harry) that was cute. And one YA book (The Nightmare Room) that was absolutely terrible. (A teacher invites 4 students aged 12 to his house for a halloween party, kidnaps them and locks them inside and has them play "games" that are tests to find out who is a werewolf. Would scare my 9 year old if he read that one.) The adult halloween themed mysteries are probably much better, but not sure if I'll have time to get to the others since I still have alot of challenge books to read and the month is running out.
