UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments girl-and-book475

Duration: September 1st thru September 30th.

Rules:If it reminds you of September, it counts. You can't begin reading before September 1st and must be completed reading no later than September 30th in order for the book to count.

You can list your books at any time and update your books as you go, but they can only count if they are read during the challenge.

Examples: If the book you're reading has: Kids going back to school, mention of Fall or Fall colors on the cover, was published in September or in the Fall, or even if it reminds you of September because you read it in September, it can count! The key is, if it makes YOU think of September, that's all that matters.

Lauren (laurenjberman) Question: can I read anything for the challenge or does it have to be a Lisa Kleypas or a historical romance book?

Zumbagirl | 90 comments Dhes - I will try this - lately I've been very distracted. But maybe with the kids going back to school, things will free up!

Giulia | 70 comments Ha! With back to school, my list is very short!

Here were go:

Knight of Pleasure by Margaret Mallory
Cowgirl Up and Ride by Lorelai James
Rainshadow Road by Lisa Kleypas

They're connected to September either because I bought them in the summer and wanted to read them in September. I'd add more, but I will still be attempting to complete my Summer challenge with these plus those, it's plenty enough already.

message 12: by Giulia (new)

Giulia | 70 comments I noticed that Dhestiny! Too long term for me. I'm fickle in my book reading, books go on a list and then sit there while new books get attention. My poor unfortunate to-read list lol Do you know it's nearly 200 books long?

See, that's the beauty of these challenges! You can make the list as you go along and only add those that actually count. :)

I'm an enabler.

Christine (Cagnes) (cagnes) | 223 comments Lisa Kay wrote: "Oh, I didn't know they were coming out with that. Maybe Lady D will like it better, as it is easier on the eyes."

It is easy on the eyes since it's front lit e-ink. I also like the whiter display with more contrast & higher resolution. I do most of my reading at night, so the adjustable built in light will be awesome.

I currently have the kindle Touch with the lighted cover & I have to read holding the kindle upright to avoid having the light shine in my eyes. That won't be a problem with the Paperwhite!

The new "Time to Read" feature sounds pretty cool. It calculates how long it will take you to finish your chapter.

I also ordered the new cover to go with it, the cover wakes up & puts the Kindle to sleep when you open & close it... no more having to turn it on or off. I feel like a kid at Christmas time, can't wait to get it! :)

That happens with my library too. And they always give me books in large print. Judith Ivory writes the best heroes imo

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments Oh...good question, Zumbagirl. I love the first three in the Rutledge Family series; have the forth, but haven't read it.

But, I liked all of the ones I read, especially her earlier ones.

I really liked the one I just read and I almost bought The Devil You Know last week. Even if they were dated that wouldn't bother me. But I know what you mean - my reading preferences have changed a lot too. Thanks for the recs!
