I tried to respond under your post. It wouldn't let me though. I am probably the only one that doesn't like them, but I don't like them. Just putting it out there.

Well, instead of grumbling about something, why not try and help it work?
What don't you like? The labels? What would you label them as instead?
These are the things that help.

I am not trying to be a pain in the butt. The labels are fine. I just liked being able to come to the page and the most recent posted to thread being right at the top. Now I have to look through all of the threads last post time or date to figure out which posts I haven't read yet. I know I know not that big of a deal.
Well, I find these topics to be much easier to look through than a simple list.
Unless many other people feel this way, it's going to stay like this.

I liked it better without folders. Takes too long to find new posts and it is probably confusing on where to post certain things. And Kyle, I'm getting a negative vibe from your responses to Chrystal that I hope is unintentional. I don't think she was attacking anybody...just stating that she doesn't like the change.
Can I make a suggestion - I like the labels, but maybe there are too many. What about keeping Maintenance and Promotions because maintenance is admin related, and you want Promos to stand out from other messages. Keep Suggestions because that is kind of like Stickies on other forum boards - things that people might want to refer to, or that every user should know.
But all the other labels could just be part of Discussions. Maybe move that to the top because that's what users are looking for when they come to the page.
I truncated the categories: removed "other", and moved "book promotion" and "maintenance" into "maintenance / book promotion"
I think this is really as small as it should get. It's not that difficult to look at the top item or two of each category and see if it was updated. You're looking at almost the same amount of items as if there were no categories, but are instead separated out.
Maybe this is the Engineer in me, but: order > chaos.

I liked it better without all the plethora of subtopic folders as well, or maybe at least we could have fewer of them...how is "suggestions" (where people ask for suggestions) different from "questions" (where people often as for suggestions), and the last one "discussions" -- well, these are ALL discussions, aren't they? Perhaps we could pare it down a bit...
