Paris (pah13) I changed my book choice.

Week 9 - Mountain/Cliff

Gabriel's Inferno (Gabriel's Inferno #1) by Sylvain Reynard by Sylvain Reynard
Rating: ★★★ 1/2
Finished: 10/29/12

Mountains/Cliff: "Sometimes I feel like he's standing on the edge of a very high cliff, and the slightest movement, the slightest breath of wind, will push him over the edge." Page 131
Things: Smoke - A glimpse of the impossible drifted before his eyes, but like a wisp of smoke it vanished. Page 200
Color: Yellow - The trees of the city had changed color and were now dappled in gold and yellow and brilliant orange and red. Page 279

Review:
This book was decent, although it wasn't nearly up to the same caliber as On Dublin Street and the Crossfire series. I'll read Gabriel's Rapture, because it sounds like it will deal with the aftermath of Gabriel having a relationship with a student, which is exactly what I was expecting to happen in the 500+ pages of this book. Inferno was a little long and probably could have been shaved down a little to keep me from zoning out at times. The will they won't they between Gabriel and Julia didn't flow as well as I've seen it in other books, but there was definitely an intensity there.

Smoke - p.22 - ...and saw her early night go up in smoke.

Katherine (katdylan) Way to go, Laura!

Toni ~married to a hunk~ (tonileigh) Week 9 Mountain/Cliff

Finally I am done with all of my items. This week I read the book Ties That Bind it was a great part to this trilogy. I love how it is not all about the same characters in the book but many more and you get a full picture. I loved learning more about Telal and what he really did give up to come topside as I call it. I think that it was very interesting to learn that Lily was not herself the whole book.

Items:
cliff Location 1981 Telal hopped down from the small cliff
Bag Location 923 Picking up a brown paper bag
Healer Rosa the el Blanco
Yellow Location 368 She slammed into the yellow car.

Five stars I finished it October 30th.

Okay so Toni and Dyllan are both done. I still have 2 items left....bag and white. So here's to hoping that either one of those is called, or the item called is not a thing or color.

Paris (pah13) Week 10
Bag

Love Left Behind by S.H. Kolee by S.H. Kolee
Rating: ★★★★ 1/2
Finished: 11/2/12

Bag: The cabbie dropped my bags on the sidewalk after I had paid him and took off. Location 136
Color: white I had paired it with a crisp white oxford shirt and a wide grey belt that I hoped accentuated my narrow waist. Location 511

Review:
Oh I so loved this book. I didn’t want to put it down. It’s funny, even though I knew that there would be a happily ever after (it’s a romance after all), I was still afraid for Jackson and Emma. My heart broke for them when bad things happened and I wanted to yell at them both for being so stupid. Jackson quickly became one of my favorite male characters even though at times I felt he was a tad whiney/needy. There was still something sexy and sweet about him that made me want a Jackson of my very own. I also really liked Emma, despite her being a bonehead at times. I thought she was a far stronger female lead than many that I’ve seen. I like the way that their story ended, but I wouldn’t mind a sweet little novella to tell me what they’re up to now. This is definitely one that I’ll likely re-read in the future.

message 277: by Katherine (new)

Katherine (katdylan) Way to go Sheila and Paris!!

message 278: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) Hey Toni, looks like Dawn missed counting bag for you. You might want to mention it in the discussion thread so she can fix that.

Then for next week lets all hope that a thing gets called (but not blood) so that Sheila can read a book real fast for road and we can win!

Regan Reilly P.I. is just along for the ride this time when her husband Jack has to attend a conference in LA. She is looking at it as a little mini vacation for her and Jack. While he is at the conference she plans to shop. While out shopping she runs into an old friend/acquaintance who invites her to a dinner at a formerly beautiful mansion. Things aren't quite what they seem and Regan finds herself on the job to figure out what is really going on.

I give it ★★★'s. only because the book gets kind of hokey in parts of it.

Red - the bright red living room page 40

Road - In a small house set back from a rural road page 27
