Alyssa (lyssad87) I'm going to read This Side of the Grave (Night Huntress, #5) by Jeaniene Frost for the color green. There's always someone going green-eyed in one of these books. :-)

message 102: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (lyssad87) Looks like everyone had a fairly easy time picking a book. Good, good. Hope you all enjoy them.

Zina, I bet you'll find green in there somewhere. Green grass perhaps, like on the cover. I read the title, it's about a chihuahua or something. Gotta be green grass for the little doggie to run around on. :-)

Megan L., you can't claim the color green this round, since you claimed it last round. But, you can claim an item from the 3 other lists when you finish your book. Happy hunting! (So, you're read Divergent? How'd you like it? I have it, but haven't read it yet.)

Let's knock some more items off our lists!

Yep i finally found Green almost 100 pages in. I was thinking it would be green grass or leaves but it was just a green dot on the floor. Found all 4 items just need to finish reading .

I m off on a fun day with hubby we are going on a tour of the icefields in the Rockies. Was an anniversary present. Going to pack a picnic lunch and maybe stop at the hot springs on the way back.

Have a great weekend.

Shelly Bretheim (shellybre) question: is there enough green in this? Savor the Moment (Bride Quartet, #3) by Nora Roberts

message 105: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Not on the cover. If you use the cover green needs to be at least 50 %. but you can find the color inside as well.

Rosina | 1 comments Chihuahua of the Baskervilles by Esri Allbritten

I read Chihuahua of the Baskervilles

REVIEW This was a fun quick read. A ghost story about a chihuahua named Petey. A magazine that writes stories about the paranormal is sent to investigate the ghost of Petey. There was a cast of crazy off-the-wall characters. Predictable ending but was a fun read.

Rating 3 ★

Finished: September 8/12

I love this series by Nora Roberts. It's a light and easy read full of romance. Like most of her stuff, this story is pretty predictable, but I will always come back for more.

Review:
The Baron's Governess Bride was a very enjoyable book. Some parts of it were a bit annoying, but overall I thought it was a good book. I hope to read more from this author soon.

Person (Child): "Papa treats me as if I'm no older than Sophie," Phoebe grumbled, "when I'm almost eleven." (page 57)

Megan L, just for future refrence when the item is something you already claimed you still need to note the new location of the item. In this case the cover is green so I will go ahead and give you the credit for it.

Review: Another awesome Cat and Bones book. I love them together. They're soo good for each other.

Get some more action with the ghouls in this one. I have to say that I still don't feel like I know too much about them. Maybe there isn't that much to know, I guess.

I love all the other characters too! I still need another Spade book though. There wasn't enough of him in this one! Just a taste of him. I don't want a taste.... I want a whole damn feast!! :-)

Items Collected
Color - Green: "His eyes were bright green, their glow illuminating the darkness surrounding us." (pg1)
Person - Child: "While I waited for my new cards, a man checked in holding a sleeping little girl in one arm...." (pg118)
Place - Mountains/cliff: "The seclusion of having a cabin on fifteen acres of mountaintop property was what had drawn us to this place to begin with." (pg311)
Thing - Glitter: "'Ask me if I sparkle and I'll kill you where you stand,' Bones cut him off with utmost seriousness." (pg 82)

And, here's all the other items I found....

- Red, Orange, Blue, Black, White
- Healer, Warrior, Couple, Single Male, Single Female, Non-human
- Blood, Wheel, Wing, Bag, Stairs, Smoke
- Open space, Metropolitan area, Famous Landmark, Road, Bar/pub, Forest

Megan L Harnett Ok Ladies we have this week's item!

Famous Landmark

I was giving this some thought and maybe we need to group together to see if we can all get the other items every week along with the called item so we can get points on everything. Does that make sense? If we work together we can get up to 4 points a week with all of us collecting the same items every week.

Alyssa (lyssad87) Megan L wrote: "Ok Ladies we have this week's item!

It's a good idea, but I don't know.... I mean in order for someone to earn all the items in the least amount of time, it would take 8 weeks. And, I think Dawn said something about it taking a minimum of 9 weeks (so 9 items called) after Round 1 played out. So, we've still got weeks of items to go through. I figure in a couple of weeks or something we'll have started matching up and knocking some more of the items off the list.

It's probably safe to just play it out how everyone wants. In a couple of weeks, we might want to see where we're at and start doing some planning.

I don't know about anyone else, but the items I've picked so far are the ones that I think would be the hardest for me to find. That's why I already claimed Famous Landmark, cuz I thought I might have a harder time finding it.

Oh, Megan L. You could always wait till some of us have finished our books and claimed items before you post your items for this week. Then, you could pick ones that might bring us closer to getting some more points.

I'm sure we'll start matching up pretty soon. :-)

(Did any of this even make sense?)

A monument, a park, a mountain, a bridge, but they would need to be ones with well known names. Statue of liberty, Eifel Tower, Central Park, Hyde Park, Golden Gate Bridge,

Alyssa (lyssad87) I finished Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth on 9/18/12 for the Famous Landmark item.

Read: Divergent by Veronica Roth

Rating: ★★★★★

Review: Those of you who have read Divergent are soo right. It was awesome!

Loved Tris. She was pretty badass most of the time. Brave and smart, but sometimes scared. I thought she was easy to relate to.

Tris and Four together was too cute. Just makes me smile.

I liked the dystopian version of Chicago. Kind of sad to think that things could end up broken down like that, but it was still kind of cool, in my opinion.

The Factions were pretty interesting to. It will be cool to learn more about them in future books.

If I had a copy of Insurgent (Divergent, #2) by Veronica Roth on hand, I'd be starting it right away. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Items Collected
Place - Famous Landmark: "The building that was once called the Sears Tower--we call it the Hub--..." (pg4) [Previously claimed]
Person - Healer: "When the nurse arrives, she tells me to step back, and I do." (pg203)
Thing - Wing: "They nip at my fingertips and press against my body, wings sliding across the back of my neck, feet tearing at my hair." (pg 233)
Color - Orange: "Outside, the air is crisp and cold and the sky is orange from the setting sun." (pg50)

And, here are some other items I found in case you're curious.... (I might have missed some...)

- Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, White
- Warrior, Couple, Single Male, Single Female
- Blood, Wheel, Stairs, Smoke
- Open space, Road

And we're UPDATED.

So, how is everyone doing with their books? Are they good, bad, interesting, etc...?

Is your book romancey, Megan L? (It looks like it might be based on the cover.)

Did you pick a book, Megan? (You haven't posted in here in about a week. Just making sure we didn't lose you. Although, I did see you posted in the general discussion topic yesterday.)

Wish I was heading out of town like Shelly and Ana. Hope you have fun, ladies.

Rosina | 1 comments BOOK Seize the Night Seize the Night (Dark-Hunter, #7) by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Item Called Famous Landmark
Read Sept 19 2012
Rating 4.5 Stars

Review I absolutely love this series. This book was about Tabitha the twin sister of Amanda from a previous book. Tabitha is the goth sister Daimon slayer. I have loved her from when she was first introduced and had hoped she would get her own story. She falls for Valerius who was a Roman General. Kyrian who is the husband of Amanda HATES Valerius because of the torture he suffered at the hands of Valerius's family.
There is romance, great fighting action, and stuff happens with good ole Nick (another character I adore).

PEOPLE Warrior
p.29 Valerius froze at the sight of the WARRIOR he had seen the night before

FAMOUS LANDMARK Bourbon Street
p.27 As she walked into the crowd on BOURBON STREET she felt something evil brush up against her psychically.

THINGS Stairs
p.60 She ran up the STAIRS to take his hand.

COLORS Black
p.18 As always he was impeccably dressed in a long BLACK cashmere coat, a BLACK turtleneck and BLACK slacks.
