Who would play Caine in the movie?

I've had several people ask me who I think should play Nathaniel Caine if there was ever a movie made. I obviously have a specific idea what Caine looks like while I'm writing. And I do have a couple actors that I think fit the look and feel of Caine. But it's more interesting to me to hear how people envisioned him while they were reading. So tell me...who should play Nathaniel Caine in the movie?
It would have been a perfect role for Clint Eastwood in his "Man with No Name" days. Maybe John Wayne in his prime, if there was a bit more humor in the character.
These days, I think I would go with Hugh Jackman.
Or, how about using the Walking Dead cast -- Andrew Lincoln as Caine, Norman Reedus as Lucas, Michael Rooker as Stone?
I could see Laurence Fishburne or Andre Braugher as Chasseur.
