2012 September Pick It For Me! Challenge
Lady Allison - I was lucky enough to meet Chloe Neill a few weeks ago at a Library of Congress speech, and I don't know if there is going to be a resolution anytime soon...
its ok Jim, I forgive you...I was hoping to have a signed copy of Biting Cold to give away on my blog, but it wasn't available when she did the appearance that I was just at
Just finished my first pifm this month - The Girl in the Steel Corset. It wasn't too bad. Definitely enjoyed it much more than the book it's commonly compared to - Clockwork Angel. Will probably pick up the second book at a later date. Thanks for helping me get this off my tbr, Irina!Done:

I definitely enjoyed Biting Cold more than Hard Bitten or Drink Deep. Wish I could meet her, what a cool opportunity! What is she like in person?

Thank you SO much for the picks! I am definitely going to read 666 Park Avenue. I had no idea that the new show I've seen previewed was a series of books (even though I should have guessed). I will probably read Forever this month as well. I love this author and loved the first two books so I have no idea why I haven't finished the trilogy. Me Before You sounds great, but I couldn't find a library near me that has it so I will add it to my list of books to find.
Thanks again for all the great picks!
Hi DeeI really hope that you find something you like after waiting soo long … your shelves are full of tons of books and we rate the ones that we’ve both read quite differently. If I'm way of the mark let me know I'll send a couple more. Sorry took longer than I thought but survived ;)
Baseball - From Their To-Read (or Similar Unread) Shelf:
Home Run: Saddled and Spurred (Blacktop Cowboys, #2) by Lorelei James
Field of Dreams: Tangle of Need (Psy-Changeling, #11) by Nalini Singh (released in May)
Clean Up Hitter: My Liege of Dark Haven (Mountain Masters, #3) by Cherise Sinclair (shows released in August)
World Series: The Gilded Web (Web, #1) by Mary Balogh (LONDON ~ It’s on both our TBR read list I know nothing about her writing … but am will to buddy read it to get it off my shelf HAHA a ringing endorsement sorry)
Football - From Your Shelves or New to Them:
First and Goal: Sister by Rosamund Lupton (will do as a Buddy read if you’re interested, it’s been recommended to me a couple time in the last few months)
Friday Night Lights: City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare
Touchdown: Show No Mercy (Black Ops, #1) by Cindy Gerard or Cop Out by K.C. Burn (highly recommended by a friend who reads MM)
Super Bowl: The Bride (Lairds' Fiancées, #1) by Julie Garwood
elise - you did a great job!! I'm def. going to do Tangle of need - I can't believe I haven't read it yet!! and I really want to do Cop Out and my Liege of Dark Heaven (just hoping for a good fictionwise discount soon!)let me look at my other reading challenges and maybe I can do a buddy ready of the Gilded Web (I just have to find it on the shelf, because I think its a print copy...)

Wish I could meet her, what a cool opportunity! What is she like in person? "she was really nice LA - she did a lecture on the origins of the vampire myth from all over the world - it was pretty interesting and then she signed books etc. I also got to go to lunch with her - which is when she talked more about the books
Emily - i'm working on your picks right now, I started but got distracted by my dog who just had surgery and wanted some attention (he howled in his cage for 3 hours last night)
ok Emily - here we go!!1. Home Run - Rainshadow Road - Lisa Kleypas tops your most-read author list, so why not read one of her newer books (and bonus, the third book in the series is already out)
2. Field of Dreams - Marked - I really like this PNR series because its a different look at mythology - using the myth of Jason and the Argonauts
3. Clean Up Hitter - Ashes of Midnight - I saw you had #1-4 on your read shelf, #5 on your to-read, but with stars assigned, so I went for #6 in my recommendation...if you haven't read #5, then I would recommend it instead
4. World Series - The Sandalwood Tree- I love the cover and its set in India, which is a place I would love to visit
5. First and Goal - Too Hot To Touch - you have another book by Louisa Edwards on your shelf that you haven't read, but I've been wanted to read this one for a while (buddy read??)
6. Friday Night Lights - Daughter of Smoke and Bone - i've heard that this had been optioned for a movie - i don't know how true it is, but if it is, I can't wait to see it
7. Touchdown - Forbidden - I haven't had many 5-star reads this year, but this is one of them - it does touch on a taboo topic though
8. Super Bowl - Immortally Yours - you have lots of PNR on your shelves, and this book looks really interesting, i pre-ordered it on my kindle and haven't read yet - so buddy read maybe?

Thanks for the picks :)
I am going to read Rainshadow Road and Too Hot to Touch. I would love to read Too Hot as a buddy read. I placed it on a hold at the library and should have it this week. If I have extra time this month I will read Veil of Midnight.

Just finished The Book of Tomorrow and really enjoyed it! It wasn't one of the picks I originally planned to read, but when I realized I could borrow the e-book from my library I couldn't resist getting started right away. Once I started reading I couldn't stop! Thanks, Skandia, for the recommendation...on to the next one :)
Hi Ashley,I finished
. It was cute. I will definitely check out the rest of the series. Thanks for the rec :)
finished my second, The Marriage Bargain. It was very cute and fun until the abrupt ending. A very big hmmph from me! I didn't feel like the H suffered enough. Much more extended groveling was needed. loldone:
Tiffany--I just finished
. I really liked it; thanks for the recommendation. I had read the first three of this series some time ago, ran out of books published, and had not gone back to it, so thanks for the reminder. It was a fun book with manly men in kilts and strong women. Thanks for the recommendation! This is my first challenge book this month; I hope to get to one of two more--I've got one on order and the other is not very available, but I'll keep trying.
HI Nancy, Finished
, thanks for the push I haven't read an HR in a long while. This was a Fun read, I like how all the stories in this anthology were intertwined.

Hi Lady Allison!
Thanks so much for the wonderful picks. I want to read them all.
I have to be in a specific mood for paranormal, so I've been saving up the newest BDB book until that mood comes around again, haha.
This month, I think I'll try the Pamela Clare Extreme Exposure book you recommended. It sounds really good, and different from what I'm used to. I just found out that the local used bookstore has a copy that I'm going to go pick up this afternoon.
You're also completely right - I haven't read enough Lisa Kleypas! I also want to read Mine Till Midnight this month. Luckily it's already on my shelf at home!
Diane ~Firefly~ wrote: "Dee, thanks for the great picks. I'm leaning towards either Hard Bitten or Immortally Yours (I just need to read the sample). If I go with the latter, I'll let you so we can buddy-read if you'd like. "Dee, I think I'm going to go for
this month. I seem to recall hearing something about a major cliffhanger when it came out, do I need to get a hold of book 5 before I finish this one?
I would say yes Diane - I would loan you mine but Jim still has it...but he could send it on to you if you want....
Just finishing my first book Grimspace. Really digging the story, characters, and the humor. I'll definitely read more of these!
Dee wrote: "I would say yes Diane - I would loan you mine but Jim still has it...but he could send it on to you if you want...."Good to know. I'll pick up it up before I start. Thanks!
I finished my Buddy Read with Ty for

UPDATE:Hey Erin! So, here are my picks for the month:
FINISHED:
9/1/12
9/2/12
9/6/12--this was great! Amelia Peabody was such a fantastic character. I loved the way her mind worked. I wasn't expecting the romance aspect of the story, but I was pleasantly surprised. I thought that Amelia reminded me of Alexia Tarabotti without the werewolves. LOL I will definitely continue with this series. Great pick!LEFT TO FINISH:
i am reading Sail by James Patterson

Erin, shoot me a PM when you do decide to go for book 2. Maybe we could buddy read!Erin wrote: Yay! I'm glad you liked it. I thought it was a lot of fun. I also finished my buddy read with Irina,
. Wow. I cleaned out my kleenex box and had to open a new one. I believe this was a debut novel, which is incredible. What a great recommendation, Irina! Thank you.
SassafrassI've just read
and it was a good read :) I added next book from series on my TBR shelf :) I have several other books to read now if there's time before the end of the month I will go and read

I admit I was a bit afraid to go and read her books, since I've heard that

Divorced Desperate and dating which is the second one was my favorite out of the series, but they all had good humor. She's one of my favorite authors, but she only puts out one book a year. Virgin Rivers was an addicting series; she has 20 books right now with another coming out in either Oct. or Nov. Hope you enjoy it like I did.
Ty,I finished
on Sunday or Monday and loved it so much that I had to read the other 3 in the series. I will be def. reading more books by Kristen Ashley. Thanks for introducing her books to me. This is why I loved this challenge so much!

I haven't done Biting Cold yet. In fact I think I still have Dee's copy of Drink Deep... Maybe I shouldn't remind her that I'm a terrible person in a public forum. In any event, Biting Cold will be a get around to it.
I think you'll LOVE the Lucky Harbor books. Enjoy.
