I haven't read Angelfall yet (it's on my to-read list), but based on what kind of book you're looking for, I would try The Selection. It's like a girlier version of the Hunger Games. THG meets the Bachelor.

I havn't read his book, but i know of some other books that are good that don't include vampires.
1) The Host, By Stephanie Meyer
2) The Hunger Games, By Suzanne Collins
3) Hush, Hush, By Becca Fitzpatrick
and i havn't read the following but...
4) Gone series, Michael Grant
5)The Maze Runner
-Hope this helps!

If you want something a bit different try Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde. It is dystopian, has a healthy splattering of adventure, is written in a first person narrative and it has a romance element, though I should probably point out that it isn't a hollywood style romance. It is however very quirky, and very British in it's humour.
It takes a two or three chapters to become used to the world, but it is well worth persevering through the initial confusion.
Have a look at the synopsis and reviews, see if it is your type of thing. It isn't everyones cup of tea, I think it's probably a bit of a marmite book, personally I love it but I should imagine that a fair few people would hate it. It certainly isn't anything like any of the other book recommendations which you have received.

I think you would like Shatter Me, it is dystopian, it has romance, and it has a little bit of x-men going.
Another good dystopian romance is Delirium.
If you're looking for something more adult and steamier, I would recommend Slave to Sensation.
Hope you'll like this books

Divergent and Insurgent are awesome!!(my first choice for you)
Hunger Games
Girl of Fire and Thorns
Haven

The Host and The Gone series are good dystopian with a little romance. The Host is first person but the Gone series switches POV every once in a while.
I would agree with everything that Jillian suggested, except for Haven. I haven't read that one. To the list I would add...
Under the Never Sky
and
Across the Universe and it's sequel, A Million Suns

Under The Never Sky is great!! Also The Matched series is pretty good as well. Dystopian and lots of romance. If you liked AngelFall though, which is one of my favorite books!!! After I read that book, I went on the hunt for a great book kinda along the same lines as AngelFall, and that's how I ran into The Immortal Instrument series by Cassandra Clare. Loved it!! There's now 5 in the series, you should check it out as well. Not so much dystopian but still really good.
Elyse Schramm
I hope you found The Infernal Devices series of Cassandra Clares as well. They are just as amazing as Immortal Instruments.
