Super needed: Please deletehttp://www.goodreads.com/book/show/97...
as it is exactly the same as
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/97...
(I have combined both)
hello, can somebody please delete this book: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...i can't do it because it has... zero reviews...
thanks!
ISBN-lesshttp://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...
Story from an anthology(already combined):
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12...
This is a weird one. There is no record anywhere that a story/book with that name actually exists (I checked the anthologies as well). I googled it, found nothing except for a mention on this site: http://getglue.com/books/into_dark/ch... (which is highly suspicious). And the only data, here on GR, is the title and the author:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/78...
Help! I need a super librarian! I did a really dumb thing and added my book twice. I need one deleted...preferably the one without the image. This is the link to the one I want deleted. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...Thank you :D

Did anyone think of contacting alice, who the Librarians Change log shows as responsible for the data? That was what was recommended to me in a similar situation.
What's the protocol for Kindle books that no longer exist? (i.e., when you follow the ASIN link, you get a 404 error from Amazon - I am assuming this is because either the publisher pulled them, or Amazon threw them out due to bad formatting)I've started cleaning up the many editions of "Wife No. 19", and so far I've deleted one non-existent Kindle edition because (a) the ASIN no longer exists, and (b) it had been added 0 times.
However, there are three more Kindle editions for which (a) is true but (b) is not (they've been added 3-5 times). Should I leave these alone?
Jonathan, please don't delete any editions which were ever published, even if no one has added them. Someone might have read them and come along later wanting to review them.

I've just sent her a message. We'll see what she says about it.

Never delete a kindle edition with an ASIN as it probably was a viable edition at one time.
Cait wrote: "Got 114 - you need to combine editions before you can merge them."Thanks!
Err... I needed one deleted... I understand it is easier to merge them?
When merging books, the reviews attached to the wrong edition transfer to the edition that stays. With a deletion without another edition those reviews would also be deleted.
Pleas mergehttp://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11...
into
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...
Its the same.
Thanks!!

Not easier, but necessary and required.
I believe these two books need to be deleted:http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...
It looks like these two have not been rated, reviewed, or shelved.
The correct book is Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power.
I corrected the title and author on this edition:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13... and combined it with the main work, but it has the wrong ISBN (isbn 10 in 13 field). I think it's a duplicate edition, but it has been shelved, so I wasn't sure about deleting it.
Also, since there was an error in entering the author on a couple of these books, there is also an invalid author record which should probably be deleted.
Got 136.
FYI, deleting a book with an invalid ISBN like that is fine, AFTER it has been combined with other editions -- as you had done. Deletions like that are more accurately called merges, and the reviews/shelvings move over to the most poplar remaining edition.
That's also what I did with the other two, after merging the authors with the correct spelling and combining editions. And as one had indeed been shelved, it illustrated why it's best to always delete after combining, even when an edition appears to have never been shelved.

rivka wrote: "deleting a book with an invalid ISBN like that is fine, AFTER it has been combined with other editions"What about books that have been published with an ISBN with a bad checksum (last digit)? Per the ISBN standard, those ISBNs are to be used by the publisher as-is, and not corrected. (They can only be replaced with a different ISBN.) Should these editions be deleted, as your comment implies?
I'm pretty sure if it has been published with an incorrect ISBN it stays Peter. It will only be re-added by the next person who has that book, and most don't know about ISBNs.
Peter, you are reading far more into my comment than was intended. Context matters. No, those would not be deleted. In fact, I would disagree that your example is "an invalid ISBN like that".

I thought you were using like that to modify deleting a book (ie. deleting by this method) instead of your intended like that modifying an invalid ISBN (ie. invalid ISBNs of this type).
Thanks for the clarification.

The author clearly doesn't want her books on this site.

That is just ridiculous
1) If she was serious about removing the works, then why are they still available to dl?
2) GR is only a listing of the books, NOT the actual books
3) She appears to be blaming GR for being a "serious" site, when in actual fact she is advertising how to acquire her books through GR, simply by mentioning GR
Deon wrote: "I can not find that this book existshttp://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12..."
The Librarians Change Log for that book shows it was added by Kimberly Fisher. If truly concerned, why not contact them?
Remy wrote: "The author clearly doesn't want her books on this site."
Not really relevant. Whether she added them or a reader did doesn't matter either. The books have been published, whether for free or for sale does not matter, and they are fair game for GR reviewers.
And considering the majority of the ratings and reviews are positive, I'm rather confused as to what she's upset about.
If she wants the links removed, we can do that. In one case, I already removed it, as it didn't meet the guidelines.

Is there any way 'Escape Inc' can be deleted please ?It is not available and it has been completely re-written.
Links to the book help, but if it has been published then we do not remove books in the same way a library does not remove books from their shelves if a book is no longer available

I'm a bit confused as to your last line.
"If she wants the links removed, we can do that. In one case, I already removed it, as it didn't meet the guidelines."
(What links are you referring to? The actual books or the "links" to books.)
Each book can have an official URL to another site, most often to the book's info on the author site or a publisher site. That is the link we can remove.
