Lis | 4037 comments Yeah Heather! And I just added it to my wish list too. You made it sound like a must read.

message 402: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments I'll stick with Pack Challenge (Magnus Pack, #1) by Shelly Laurenston for my PNR book this week.

message 403: by Heather (new)

Heather (heathermb) | 132 comments Yeah, it was great. I'm putting it on my tbb paperback list because eformat is not enough for the re-reading I'm sure I'll do in the future.

message 404: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments I'm going with Bone Crossed as the PNR book. I had read about 3 chapters before Steph's announcement. But I have re-read them, so I should be good to go.

I just read elsewhere that Fair Game has a spoiler for the ending of River Marked (OMG, WHY would anyone do that????????) which means that I won't be reading it anytime soon. I'm soooooo disappointed. Why would the author do something like that? Why? WHY?

message 405: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Vi, where did you see the spoiler?

I just read all the reviews posted and didn't note any spoilers for River Marked.

message 406: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments I heard it from Lisa Kay. Here's the link to the spoiler conversation.

message 407: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Interesting. Luckily I've already read River Marked. I'll have to get it off the shelf and have another look to see what they could be rehashing :)

message 408: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Enjoy the book, Sandra!

message 409: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments It will have to be after I finish my Bingo read :)

Dawn (dawn_e) | 185 comments Changed my mine on the book - starting doing stuff around the house and was easy to listen and work.

Finished: First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones
Shelf: Paranormal Romance
Date: 3/4
Rating: ★★★★

This was an interesting story. I liked Charley her sarcastic remarks/thoughts and how she tries to be a bad ass which does and doesn't always work for her. There was a lot of things - characters, plot, the build up - going on in the story so the pacing felt off here and there. Overall I enjoyed the book and will be reading the next one.

Lis | 4037 comments Finished: Pack Challenge by Shelly Laurenston
Shelf: Paranormal Romance
Date Finished: 3/5/2012
Rating: ★★★

Review: This was a fun light read, no heavy thinking required. Three fiesty childhood friends enjoy the excitement as what they think is a biker gang brings a rave and all the wolfie hunks that come in with it to their little town. To say these girls are just a wee bit nuts is too polite, between their fighting and harassment of each other they try to avoid following the lusty attraction to a few of the strangers. The main character is a crippled and scarred gal that's unaware that she was almost killed by lion shifters when injured at a young age. She also doesn't know that she is actually a wolf shifter and soon has to fight the pride of cats that finds her in this little town and tries to finish her off. Hunkie wolf steps in to school her, lots of steamy sex and foul language... And the rest is a pretty action packed to the end.

message 412: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Yeah Dawn! I have not tried that series yet but seems to be a popular series on GRs.

message 413: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Yay, Dawn and Lis! Those are two series I've not started yet.

message 414: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawn_e) | 185 comments There are way too many popular series! And I keep picking up #1 and maybe #2. I really should focus on finishing the series I've already started.

Sandra | 25908 comments Vi wrote: "Enjoy the book, Sandra!"

Vi, I had a look at River Marked but couldn't figure out which part is spoiled by Fair Game. Will just have to wait till my copy of Fair Game turns up and I can confirm/deny the extent of the spoiler.

message 416: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Yay! Sounds great, Sandra. Thanks!

message 417: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Finished: Bone Crossed by Patricia Briggs
Shelf: Paranormal Romance
Date: 6 March
Rating: ★★★★
Review: I'm loving each installment in the series. After the way Iron Kissed ended, I was worried about Briggs handling it. I need not have feared. The book was sufficiently spooky and I had so many theories on the things that were happening but none of them turned out to be true. I even doubted Stefan for a while there. It turns out that I hate Marsilia (like I think we're supposed to). I'm definitely picking up the next installation especially because of Samuel.

message 418: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 150 comments way to go, ladies! I should be done with mine soon!

message 419: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 150 comments Oh, and I'm reading Sexiest Vampire Alive by Kerrelyn Sparks

message 420: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 150 comments Finished- Sexiest Vampire Alive, Kerrelyn Sparks
Date- March 7
Shelf- PNR
Rating- 4 stars
Review- In this book, Gregori, the womanizer, is chosen to represent the vamps in the campaign to ease the hysteria caused by the battle with Casamir went viral and vamps came out. This "bottle fed never been bit" vamp is chosen to convince the president to debunk the video. Gregori falls fir tge presidents daughter, Abby, and they journey through China in search of a plant that will help heal her mother. Of course, they hit trouble along the way. All in all, it was a pretty good book. A light and entertaining read.

message 421: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Yeah Jennifer!

message 422: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Yay, Jennifer!! We're done with our PNR stamps as well, I guess.

message 423: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments So what is everyone reading now that we're done with our shelf?

I'm reading Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon - actually almost done with it. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. Maybe after a walk..

message 424: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 150 comments I think i am going to read the next one in the georgina kincaid succubus series.

message 425: by Dawn (last edited Mar 07, 2012 07:47AM) (new)

Dawn (dawn_e) | 185 comments Well on audio The Knife of Never Letting Go and reading Dime Store Magic.

Her books are good just tend to go on and on. I think I've read 3 or 4 although first one was the best

message 426: by Lis (last edited Mar 07, 2012 04:38PM) (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Yay Vi! How do you like it? Its got a few rough places, but she packs alot of little side stories that circle back in later books. I just finished it again and listening to Dragonfly in Amber now. I read thru at least once a year or listen. The audios are awesome with the scottish and English accents and cheap close to a new book release. Not sure if we will get one this year or not. They are chunkie but take her 3 yrs to produce.

message 427: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments I've been collecting freebies like a book addict for my kindle, so out of guilt I'm reading a few in between challenges so I can save the good books for fast shelf reads. Right now I'm working on Alcandian Quest (Alcandians, #1) by Mary Wine which alien men abduct mates from earth, quite entertaining fluff.

message 428: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments It was a good read. I can't say I'm in love with it but I'll definitely be continuing with the next book. I downloaded the outlander audio but didn't listen to it. I tried to listen while I walk from work in the evening (1 1/2 hours - soo much time to read) but I kept relistening that I gave up. Now the dilemma is whether should I start the next book now or should I give it time?

message 429: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments If you have a kindle there are several quick freebies that take very little mental effort to take a break before tackling the next one.

message 430: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments CONGRATULATIONS, Divining Divas!

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Welcome! Congrats! :)

message 434: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments I ended up reading Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins for a challenge and I started Playing for Keeps (A Neighbor from Hell, #1) by R.L. Mathewson as it somehow ended up in my ereader. Either it was a freebie or something close to it.

But you're right, Lis. I have downloaded soooo many freebies that I have to start reading them.

message 435: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawn_e) | 185 comments What did you think of Hex Hall?

message 436: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Hex Hall was good. It started out as a typical YA but then it got better. The ending makes me want to pick up the next book which I'll be doing as soon as I get it from the library.

message 437: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments So what's everyone doing between now and our shelf announcement? I'm between books again...

message 438: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawn_e) | 185 comments Last few days have been busy with work and tomorrow is a competition day. And on Sunday will be at Vail boarding. So wont be getting a whole lotta reading done :(.

message 439: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Dawn, what's Vail boarding?

I'm reading Kushiel's Justice (Kushiel's Legacy, #5) by Jacqueline Carey - at around 800+ pgs. I hope to finish it before the next shelf announcement. I've been good so far with the reads this week.

message 440: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Vi, Vail is a place to go snow boarding :)

message 441: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Sounds fun Dawn, but I'm more of a snow tubing type... Our PA resort has about 9 tubing runs and you can hook as many tubes together as you want. The more people, the faster you go. Then it has a conveyor belt like an airport people mover to take you back up the slope. Enjoy the mountains, I'm sure it's beautiful there.

message 442: by Vi (last edited Mar 10, 2012 04:48AM) (new)

Vi | 943 comments Thanks, Sandra! I've never seen snow in my life :(

Have fun, Dawn!!

message 443: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments It's cold and wet Vi, so you're not really missing out. LOL

message 444: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments Only people who have grown up with snow can say that, Sandra!:-)

message 445: by Heather (new)

Heather (heathermb) | 132 comments I'd say snow can be pretty and amazing until you have to shovel (or snowblow) wet snow from your driveway and walkways several times. That stuff is heavy and all too often what we've been getting at my house. Lol

message 446: by Dawn (last edited Mar 10, 2012 08:15AM) (new)

Dawn (dawn_e) | 185 comments The good thing is I live west of the mountains so when it snows here its gone by mid day - so no shoveling for me! Some of the resorts have tubing with the conveyor but I haven't tried it. It really is beautiful out and last few times we've gone its been nice and warm, which sounds weird I know.

Lis | 4037 comments Investigated and.... Pnr mystery gives teams 2 and 12 four in a row...
Teams 15 ... And 1, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 Three in a row.

I can predict in 3 weeks it's going to be a multiple tie and we will be involved, because... I have a family vacation in Disney... So hopefully we can wrap it up before then, or I'm taking lots of books on my kindle and the kids will get a day at the pool...

message 450: by Heather (new)

Heather (heathermb) | 132 comments Okay, so for this one I'll be reading Blood Dreams (Blood, #1) (Bishop/Special Crimes Unit, #10) by Kay Hooper .
