Diane ~Firefly~ | 913 comments I finished my favorite series book today (2/25) and give it 3 stars.

Pretty standard for the series. A trip to Ireland at the beginning for a change of pace and then a fairly quick return to NYC to find a murderer who likes unusual weapons and somewhat public places. Nothing really stands out is this book, but it is always fun to hang out with Eve, Roarke and friends.

Indulgence in Death (In Death, #31) by J.D. Robb

Emily | 109 comments For the demon shelf I am going to read Dance with the Devil (Dark-Hunter, #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon . It works out perfect since I just finished reading Night Embrace tonight. Cant wait to continue with the series.

Diane ~Firefly~ | 913 comments I'm surprised how many demon books I have. Nothing is calling out to me, so I'm not sure which one I will read. I'll try and start one sometime tomorrow.

Miss | 259 comments I finished my favorite series book Fantasy in Death (In Death, #30) by J.D. Robb on 02/25/2012, 4 stars.

This is one of my favorite series and it consistently delivers for me. All the books are good mysteries but I really love the ones where there is a development in the Eve-Roarke relationship. Those two are mag! (lol)
There was a lot of tech talk in this one and even though the whodunnit was pretty easy to figure out, I had trouble imagining the how of it, because it seemed so impossible. The explanations at the end made it seem possible (slightly). This series remains at the top of my favorites list.

Miss | 259 comments Woo-hoo, I'm going to read A Perfect Blood (The Hollows, #10) by Kim Harrison from the demons shelf.

Emily | 109 comments I just finished Dance with the Devil (Dark-Hunter, #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon . I think the is the best book so far in the series. Zarek's story is really intense. I just couldnt put this book down. Looking forward to the next book. Rated this a 5.

message 161: by Emily (new)

Emily | 109 comments Started and finished it today.

message 162: by Diane ~Firefly~ (new)

Diane ~Firefly~ | 913 comments I finished my book for the demon shelf today (2/26) and gave it 2 stars.

Val is a 1/8th succubus and channels the energy by slaying vampires. On her 18th birthday, she gets kicked out of the house to "protect" her younger sister but ends up in a better place with a new job, a nice place with a roommate and the best partial hellhound ever - Fang. I loved Fang and might check out the next one because of him, but otherwise the story just seemed a bit lacking. The romance was unrealistic, the bad guy didn't really have a reason and the vampires as a whole were almost pitful.

Bite Me (Demon Underground, #1) by Parker Blue

Mostly he acts like a normal dog except he can communicate with Val and he can sniff out vampires.

Sandra | 25912 comments Blood of the Demon (Kara Gillian, #2) by Diana Rowland
Demon Shelf 27/2/12 ★★★★★

This series just gets better. All the characters from the last book are back and more people know what Kara does, which is a good thing.

Kara, a violent crime detective, is also a Demon Summoner. Which can be tricky as they are pretty dangerous and sneaky. They always have their own agenda.

So this go round, Kara, still has to find her Aunt Tessa's essence (from the last book); find out who is eating essences & then what to do about them; steer her way through the Ryan vs Demon Lord Rhyzkahl jealousy; find out just who/what Ryan really is; break into her Aunt's library to find out what is going on. Oh, and who is doing the gardening at her Aunt's house while she is in the hospital.

Excited to read the next one.

Sandra | 25912 comments Hey, Cathy & Miss, how are your books going?

Anyone got plans for the weekend?

How's the weather?

It's been raining, raining and more raining around here. Up a bit north there are floods but luckily nothing like that here.

message 176: by Miss (new)

Miss | 259 comments Hi Sandra, I'm reading my book now, and since i have most of the weekend free (the first in 3 weeks), i'm sure it will be finished soon. I've been really tired lately, working 2 jobs, i thought i could handle the workload, but i guess maybe not, after a month of this my body really tells me i have to get some sleep. :)

message 177: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25912 comments Wow, 2 jobs Miss, that's a lot of stress not just work. Try and get some sleep this weekend, as well as finishing your book. LOL. No pressure :DDD

message 178: by Cathy (new)

Cathy Galloway | 140 comments I finished my book Intertwined on 2/28/12. I'm giving it 3 1/2 stars. As the first book in a series, a lot of scene setting happened, the characters had to meet and form a friendship and background was shared. Then, in the last 50 pages, most of the action was rushed in. I'm thinking the next book should be better since it can get right into the meat of the story.

message 179: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25912 comments Yay Cathy :D

Glad you enjoyed it enough to anticipate the next one :)

Sorry you didn't like it Emily :(

I'm about a third of the way through Timeless, just sad it's the last book of this series, though I did hear her next is a spinoff, titled Prudence :)

message 192: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25912 comments Timeless (Parasol Protectorate #5) by Gail Carriger
Paranormal Romance Shelf 3/6/12 ★★★★

The last of the Parasol Protectorate series, though I did hear Ms Carriger is writing a spinoff series, the first of which is titled Prudence.

Alexia and Conall have settled down in domestic bliss in London and to living in Lord Akeldama's third-best closet so they can be close to Prudence, who is now about 2 years old, when Alexia receives a summons to visit Egypt and the world's oldest living vampire.

As she is always up for a challenge and loves excitement, she immediately makes plans which include Ivy, her family and the acting troupe as camouflage for herself, Conall and Prudence.

While in Egypt they investigate the origins of the God-Breaker Plague and why it is suddenly expanding. Back in London, the Pack is in pandemonium and Professor Lyall and Biffy become an item.

Really enjoyed this series but would of liked to have seen more romance in this final instalment.

Miss | 259 comments Cathy, I loved loved that book and the series. :)

I just finished , 03/08/2012, my book A Perfect Blood (The Hollows, #10) by Kim Harrison for the demon shelf. I gave it 4 stars.
I liked the previous one in the series better I suppose and I had really high expectations for this book. I was mostly disapointed in the lack of romantic development between Trent and Rachel. They become good friends though, which is fine but I'm wondering where is the author trying to take things with those two. The bad guys were really disgusting this time too, but the ending opened up a whole new can of worms. Another year to wait...*sigh*
