I had a look at Samhain and it is listed as a Category length, which is less than a novel. I've got & read Amber Eyes and I know that is only 124 pages or so; so you'd be well and truly covered if you read both.

I found it on my kindle and the progress dots looked a little short. I was going to swap it for a Lori Handeland but I'll just read both. If the first one isn't any good then I'll go for

I'm not sure I understand this week's shelf... I just pick a book about whatever supernatural being I like best?, like vampires or shifters?

You could choose werewolves, dragons, fae, vamps or anything really. Happy hunting!

I enjoyed this, it was a little short though. It was an interesting take on the origin of shifters and I loved the fact that she was a Cheetah :)

I liked the story in this one a little better, I would love a follow up to see what happens after the baby is born. I also wish we knew what happened in Africa.
On the whole I enjoyed these, they had the typical Maya Banks feel to them. I enjoy her newer stuff - KGI is one of my favourite series.

OOOOH, this was really good. It is about a group of individuals. Each with a special characteristic and they use this trait/tick against criminals...to break them down and then rehabilitate them so that they can live safely in society. The heroine's trait is hypochondria. So, Justine gets all of the cases where the individuals are susceptible to believing that they have a rare illness. There is a good mystery surrounding (what I thought was)the love interest - Packard. (I secretly like him.) But, then I get whammied by the surprise love interest! (I also secretly like, Simon...I don't know why - I just do.) The group of disillusionists are a great bunch of characters. I can tell they are going to carry this series. (There is a drunk disillusionist, a gambler disillusionist, etc.) Justine gets herself in a pickle in the middle of the book. I am thinking if this is JUST the middle of the book; then the ending is going to be FANTASTIC! I will have to admit that getting to the end, and I thought that Packard and SOMEBODY (whoever the disillusionists ended up pinning the crime wave on) would have a big Zinging showdown came and went without much of any to-do about it...was a little bit disappointing. There was a good ending - it just wasn't what I was envisioning. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.
One thing that did bug me...Cubby. Don't EVER use a name like "Cubby" for a grown male! He may as well have been experiencing tummy aches and needed his mama to tuck him in bed at night.
Favorite line: I am warning you, when the old ladies pass out the little squares of pizza at the supermarket, I always take one, but I never buy the pizza.
Favorite scene: page 62ish
Involving a dinner napkin... :o)

Good Job!! :D

As you all know I love Sookie and Eric :) I am always routing for Alcide then be is a dick about something and I realise how I really don't like him apart from in Club Dead when we first meet him....his arrogance and pig headedness always takes over! however I will be reading this book and the whole series over and over again as it is definitely one of my favourites! and I will be watching True Blood - Joe Manganiello ;) be rude not to!!

I have about 4 books on the go at the moment, I usually read with my Kindle have an ebook on my pc at work and then have and audiobook on my Ipod for when I am cooking tea at night haha...that is multi-tasking for you!! :)

The only fauly I can find is that it doesn't have an internal light, I have bought little LED's that clip to the Kindle but they always fall off or don't cover the full screen so I end up sat in bed wearing a head torch!! a pretty sight indeed....not!!

I'm really considering saving for the new kindle touch :)

ps. Im in Edinburgh next weekend celebrating my friends 30th any tips on where to go? :-)

As a strange coincidence my hubby is also a Stephen :)
I have no clue about Edinburgh I haven't been through there in years. I have messaged a friend that lives there for her opinion, hopefully she'll know a few places & I'll pass on the info :)

Haha yeah it is especially being a 'PH' Stephen :)
Oh great thanks really appreciate it, thought you might have more idea than me I have only been there on day trips never at night x

Gotta luv a pervy uni!!!!
Awesome great super duper fantastic follow up to A Brush of Darkness. Abby is just so believable and love all the encounters that she has and how she handles herself. Tough even when she is scared, gutsy even when the odds aren't in her favor. The best thing by far is Phin, the cat sized unicorn who sleeps in Abby's underwear drawer. He was even more bawdy and hilarious than I remembered from the debut.
The world setting is duo. Earth and Faerie which is on the brink of war. The doors are closed between worlds. Which is causing the Fae to start to fade. The Faerie world is so descriptive. The plot is riddled with twists, turns and a cliffhanger.
If you havent started this series. do so it is great escapism. Love it.

No worries Jade - I'll let you know what she says :)

Tiger Lilys on George Street and the Living Room. Or there is the Dome which is at the otherside of George Street next to the hard rock.
That was my answer! lol, it sounds like George St is a good place to be and you could pub crawl? :)

I will be reading Black Wings. Best of luck ladies & happy reading!

I have heard really good things about this series but after reading other books about Grim Reapers I wasn't sure how it would compare but I can hnestly say I loved it and I will be continuing on with the series.
So many things going on, everyone has a history & secrets... You know when you get a feeling that a series is going to get better with every book and you can't wait? Well I've got it with this one - it has a similar feel to both Riley Jensen & Rachel Morgan series in the sense that it has a similar paced style filled with twists and turns. Beezle is going to be a great side kick

I can honestly say it's been fun reading with you and sharing book recs :)

Ok well it was just meh ok for me. I was dissapointed. Just wasnt into it, the made up language and the overall creepiness. I thought the first 200 pages in this book were slow, uneventful, and irritating because so many questions are raised and no one answers anything. I was never emotionally immersed until the end. The last 150 pages picked up, finally become action-packed, concluding with an ending that I felt saved the book for me. Lately the YA dystopian books I have read have left me feeling that I need to go back to reading stuff I really love - dark UF.

Michelle I'm 99% sure Golden Eyes isn't 200 pages long. ..."
ooohhh, I didn't realise. Thank you! I was going to read them both anyway. I'll add Amber Eyes in :)
