Rachel-RN (rachelgoodbyeborders) | 1368 comments Finished Truthseeker (Worldwalker Duology #1) by C.E. Murphy 2/6 4*
I really enjoyed this one. I loved how CE Murphy blended the two worlds together. I am glad I waited to read this one because of the way it ended. Wayfinder (Worldwalker Duology #2) by C.E. Murphy has been bumped up on the TBR.

message 59: by Lady Jaye (new)

Lady Jaye (lady-jaye) | 598 comments That's good to know, Rachel! I'll put them on my TBR as soon as I've read two books (i'm not allowed more than 200 books on the tbr pile!)

message 60: by Audrey (last edited Feb 07, 2012 07:47AM) (new)

Audrey Cook Kolbek (audreykol) Finished Vanish (Firelight, #2) by Sophie Jordan - 2/6 ... I give it ★★★★☆.
I think I might have actually liked this one a little better that the first one, Firelight. Now I will have to wait for the next one to come out to see what will happen. I just really hope that the author ends up making Cassian and Tamra a couple.

Does anyone know how to make the actual stars?

message 61: by SandyC (new)

SandyC (sandyc88) | 342 comments Way to go Rachel and Audrey!

I don't know how to make the stars, but I would love to learn!

message 62: by Audrey (last edited Feb 07, 2012 06:54PM) (new)

Audrey Cook Kolbek (audreykol) Thanks Sandy ... now on to my "free space" read!

YAY Rachel! Way to go.

message 68: by Audrey (last edited Feb 08, 2012 07:29AM) (new)

Audrey Cook Kolbek (audreykol) ok ladies I am done with Hexed (Iron Druid Chronicles, #2) by Kevin Hearne (free space) - 2/7 and I give this book ★★★★★

I love this series. Atticus and his dog Oberon are too hilarious! I would totally recommend this book/series to anyone. There are plenty of laugh out loud scenes in this book ... I know someone must have thought I was crazy! LOL

Come on next self ... I am on a role! LOL

message 69: by Lady Jaye (new)

Lady Jaye (lady-jaye) | 598 comments Yay!! Glad you liked it, Audrey. Will look forward to it.

message 70: by Audrey (new)

Audrey Cook Kolbek (audreykol) Thanks Lady Jaye!

message 71: by SandyC (new)

SandyC (sandyc88) | 342 comments I finished Kiss of Midnight and gave it ★★★
The author thanks Jessica Bird (aka J.R. Ward) in her acknowledgements, and well she should since this book has MUCH in common with the Black Dagger Brotherhood. There are so many similarities, that it became a bit annoying. On the other hand, I liked the story overall and the characters were well drawn out. I think I would have rated it higher had I not been familiar with BDB. I will read the next book but I'm not in a hurry.

message 72: by Lady Jaye (new)

Lady Jaye (lady-jaye) | 598 comments Oh Lordy, am I the last one? I am reading Heartless as fast as I can, so we can get our badge. Sorry!

message 73: by SandyC (new)

SandyC (sandyc88) | 342 comments Ha ha, you are not last Lady Jaye.

But, ladies, two other teams already have their first stamp!

message 74: by Audrey (last edited Feb 08, 2012 07:27AM) (new)

Audrey Cook Kolbek (audreykol) I totally agree with you about Kiss of Midnight. It was't my favorite series and I have't even finished it. I am in not hurry. I really liked the men (can't remember what they call the group), but I think, like you said, it is TOO similar to the BDB for me to enjoy them more.

It also looks like #15 is almost done with the "free space" reads. I guess it ready doesn't matter, because like any bingo, there may be selves that are not on their cards later in the game. :)

Do we know what book CaroB is reading yet? Just wondering ...

Audrey Cook Kolbek (audreykol) Lady Jaye wrote: "Oh Lordy, am I the last one? I am reading Heartless as fast as I can, so we can get our badge. Sorry!"

No worries ... you still have time.

message 76: by Lina (new)

Lina yep, I'm reading Heartless. I'm on chapter 12 and reading as fast as I can :-)

message 77: by Audrey (new)

Audrey Cook Kolbek (audreykol) Oh ... you and Lady Jaye are reading the same book. Cool! Mini-group read. LOL

Believe me ... I am normally not this fast. I like to take my time, but I have been reading books I seem to fly through lately. I think it's because recently I have checked out a lot of library books and need to get them DONE! LOL I was worried I would be holding up the team I was on, that was why I was so nervous. :-)

message 78: by Lina (new)

Lina I'm usually the opposite, Audrey. I tend to get through most of my challenges without a hitch, but for some reason, I've started Feb on the back foot.

Just a quick Q: the new shelf wont be announced until Sunday, is that right? So we can't read another book towards a different shelf until the announcement (To count towards the stamp)?

message 79: by Audrey (new)

Audrey Cook Kolbek (audreykol) That is right CaroB. We have to wait for the self to be announced before we can read. I have noticed that some ladies from different teams have a personal self with the books they will read for the bingo self that is called. Does that make since???
They know what book they will read as soon as that self it announced. Shoot ... I wouldn't be ale to do that. I would change my mind all the time. LOL

message 80: by Judithe, Soap Operas never end.... (new)

Judithe | 6566 comments I also love the thrill of the hunt...though I've made a secret list of possibilities as well!

message 81: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments I'm like you Audrey, I never make a list or look for books till the shelf is announced. Who knows what I have to/want to read by then.

message 82: by Lina (new)

Lina Yes, I think I'll be choosing week by week also. I'm such a moody reader!

message 83: by Lina (new)

Lina Finished Heartless (The Parasol Protectorate, #4) by Gail Carriger 9th Feb ★★
I've picked this up and put it down several times since December, and it was only the draw of using it to complete a challenge that led me to finish it now. As much as I've enjoyed the previous Parasol Protectorate books, this one just failed to grab me. I don't know when / if I'll continue with this series, though there's a little bit of hope that things will pick back up now that the baby's abilities have been discovered.

message 84: by Audrey (new)

Audrey Cook Kolbek (audreykol) YAY CaroB!

message 85: by Lina (new)

Lina lol, thanks Audrey :-)

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments but you didn't like it, CaroB! *sad*

message 87: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Bingo is awesome. I'm gladly adding AND deleting books from my shelves! :)

message 88: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Well, I still loved Heartless (The Parasol Protectorate, #4) by Gail Carriger and I'm eagerly awaiting Timeless (The Parasol Protectorate, #5) by Gail Carriger so don't be too hasty Vi.

message 89: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Oh, I've been in two minds about this series - so not in for another vampire series. I'll still keep an open mind about this. And for some reason, I'm under an impression that this is a zombie series which I'm think is a wrong one.

message 90: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments Vi, don't tell me you haven't read this series yet?!

message 91: by Midu (last edited Feb 09, 2012 06:30AM) (new)

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments Sandra's right! The books are yummy-in a totally not edible way, of course!

message 92: by Lina (new)

Lina Midu wrote: "but you didn't like it, CaroB! *sad*"
I thought it was just O.K., but not as good as the previous books for sure.

Sandra wrote: "Well, I still loved Heartless (The Parasol Protectorate, #4) by Gail Carriger and I'm eagerly awaiting Timeless (The Parasol Protectorate, #5) by Gail Carriger so don't be too hasty Vi."
That's good to know, Sandra. I'll try to keep an open mind.

message 93: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Nope! I suppose I should move it up the TBR?

Midu wrote: "Vi, don't tell me you haven't read this series yet?!"

message 94: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments Up> No, make them the TBR lol

message 95: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments Hmmm it wasn't the usual good stuff, CaroB!

message 96: by Lina (new)

Lina Vi, no real Zombies per say, though there was a mummy in one... there's a little bit of a steampunk element to these that added a bit of interest.

message 97: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments and pretty Conall too!

message 98: by Lady Jaye (last edited Feb 09, 2012 09:14AM) (new)

Lady Jaye (lady-jaye) | 598 comments Ok, I'm here! I finished Heartless (The Parasol Protectorate, #4) by Gail Carriger . and I give it a grudging ★★★★. More like 3.5 stars, really. Conall Maccon makes me laugh so hard! I love him. I felt so sad for Professor Lyall. And the way Gail Carriger describes things has such a flair to it that I like a lot. This time around the mystery wasn't too interesting to me, as I am not a big fan of steampunk - it dragged whenever we got to descriptions of automatons and such. and I HATE Felicity and Ivy. The birth scene made me laugh. I can't wait to see Alexia and Conall with Prudence in Timeless!!

message 99: by SandyC (new)

SandyC (sandyc88) | 342 comments Hooray! We get a stamp!! :-)

Audrey Cook Kolbek (audreykol) WOO HOO! YAY US!
I haven't read the The Parasol Protectorate series, but I have the first one here waiting to be read. Maybe I'll read it sometime. :-)
