Nothing But Reading Challenges discussion

Six degrees of separation refers to the idea that everyone is on average approximately six steps away, by way of introduction, from any other person on Earth, so that a chain of, "a friend of a friend" statements can be made, on average, to connect any two people in six steps or fewer.

So for this challenge were trying to connect authors by the books they praise.
First step: Pick a book that has praise from other authors, somewhere on or in the book.(Back, inside flap or inside pages. Read this book first.



Next step - pick one of the authors that gave praise (on the book you just read) and read one of their books.(make sure the new book you pick has praise on it from another author)

Now you can keep this going until you come back around to the first book's author, or until you finish one of the levels:

- Keys to the Kingdom! You've actually came back around to a book by the original author you began with! Way to go!
Queen of the Castle. You were able to connect six authors together by the book praise they gave.
- Gold Star! Woot! You've connected five authors together.
- Blue Ribbon - You've connected four authors together.Very Nice.
-Cupcake - You've connected three authors together.Good Job.

Duration & Tries The duration of this challenge is up to you. Also you may complete this challenge and started it again as many times as you wish.

I'm having a hard time lol, because most of my books are from the library and they put that big white sticker on the back covering up some of the praise on the back.

it looks like I'll have better luck using all paperbacks. They have a lot more praise on the pages in the front.

Kellyflower, you can go to Amazon.com and look at the covers if it say "Look inside!" That's what I did for my one (downloadable) library book.

I'll start with Midnight's Daughter.
This has praise from Patricia Briggs and Charlaine Harris so I have a choice for my next book.

I've started a paper list of books and authors trying to connect the first to the last (Thanks to Lisa Kay's Idea with Amazon) and it's driving me crazy.

a lot of books have praise now from other writers- its another way of promoting themselves

when we are counting degrees do we count the 1st book that started the chain or from the 2nd book which is the first connection?

Afsana count how many authors (including the first one) you were able to connect by book praise.
