UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Great challenge, Nissie!

message 52: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert Thanks, Dhes! It's gonna be a tough one. Both emotionally and there being SO many to choose from. It will be interesting, though. A lot of these books are older than I am!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I'm looking forward to hearing/seeing what you think of the ones you choose.

The only one I have listed so far was written by a friend of my mother's and she (my mother) has been nagging me to read it. She's sure I'll LOVE it... we'll see.

message 54: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert I'm thinking of putting titles in a hat and drawing.;)

I hope you do love it! I can't begin to imagine what kind of book one of my mother's friends would write.

message 55: by Leah (last edited Apr 30, 2011 10:06PM) (new)

Leah (leahkarge) Dhes, I think I am going to try for 20 again, but I will just keep giving you my count everytime I post :)

Drawing might not be a bad idea, Nissie! LOL And the book is apparently about finding old friends or something like that.

message 58: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) No problem, hon! I know it gets hard to read the numbers when I cross them out. *hugs!*

It could turn out to be an excellent book! On a personal level, I care nothing about finding old friends. I'm very happy with my newer ones. :D

EXACTLY!!! I have only 1 friend from high school, and she was actually a friend from elementary school first! We've been BFFs since we were 9 years old. Everyone else from my high school years... I don't care.

And we are happy with you, too, hon! ;D

message 62: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert That's sweet about your BFF! I live in a small town and unless you want to be completely alone your whole life, you make do with what you've got as far as "friends" go. Some folks seem to think that everybody in these hick towns are tight. Not true. It's just that they're all you've got until you can venture out into the world. I don't care about seeing anyone from high school either. In fact when I do spot them, I tend to go the other way.

Hey, does anyone know which Rough Riders book Jessie and Brandt were introduced in? I just finishedCowgirls Don't Cry and I feel like I'm missing something in relation to their story.

Side Note: Finally started Outlander. I initially planned to read it along with other books throughout the month but I can already tell this is a book I'm going to have to give my full attention:-)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Rose, here's what I found out from my friend, Beanbag -

"They were intro'd in "Shoulda Been a Cowboy" and their story was addressed in "Raising Kane". Hm. Now that I've mentioned them I have to go back and read those two books. LJ's just like that. ;-) "

message 95: by Rose (new)

Rose | 109 comments Thanks, Dhes! Have you read the entire series? I think I read books 1-5 then kind of got all cowboy'd out and stopped. Then picked up 10. Since I really don't know any of these characters, i guess i should go back and finish the rest.

message 96: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I've read up through Shoulda Been a Cowboy, but nothing more. I should read those next for my All Things Spring/Spring Cleaning challenge.
