Thankyou David for telling people that my book is also available on Amazon.com. I am gradually getting used to including both addresses. For a while I thought that one address covered all but now I know different. I hope you don't mind if I put the link in here.

David Elkin Thank you David

A bigger thanks to you for the free book.

You are most welcome-I wanted to read the book and the price was correct. I would like to see a Victorian novel where some heavy hitting chaps like Sir Richard Burton, or McDonald, or even that quickie Sir Charles Tupper. Maybe Burton was a bigger hitter though?

Well, I gave you Canadian Prime ministers. BTW, Tupper holds the record for shortest time as a Canadian PM.

I meant these guys:

Benjamin Disraeli, William Ewart Gladstone, or even The Marquess of Salisbury

written by, Erma Steppe is on sale @ Barnes & Noble, Amazon, etc.
I hope you will give this book a look. It's a true story of a woman's life story, abused by the people who should have loved her, left many times in the hands of a woman who hated her.
A lifetime of waiting to hear the words,I love you, a great book with copies of court documents. Let me know what you think of this bio. Thanks

Alex (alexlukeman) | 102 comments I've decided to hold back release of the third book in my PROJECT thriller series (called The Seventh Pillar)to wait for a particular cover designer. Anyone have experience with KDP Select? I'm thinking of moving White Jade to that platform.

message 1212: by Christa (new)

Christa Hi Alex,

I just finished a two-day giveaway on KDP Select. I was very happy with the results. Lots of books were picked up and even after the freebie was over, I saw an increase in sales not just in the U.S. but on Amazon UK and DE even. In addition, quite a few Prime members borrowed the books. A word of caution: I have heard from people who didn't do well, so I guess it's a matter of trying it out. I don't know how many books you have available. I would start with about 2 books and see how it goes.
Good luck in case you try it!
Christa

Hi Letter from a James Mason Member who asked me to post this for him..always happy to assist a fellow member!!

Rick, thanks for your efforts on behalf of this group of language lovers.

I’m afraid I’m ignorant of the proper method involed, but can you post this comment to the group for me?

An Open Letter to the James Mason Book Club

I joined the James Mason Book Club in 2011 to get feedback on my debut Epic Fable, Beyond the Elastic Limit, and you graciously complied with several members forwarding truthful reviews.

These comments were appreciated and I took them to heart as I began my next Epic Fable, newly published and entitled Piercing the Elastic Limit.

The first book took some years but the new one came in a matter of months, and after writing it I went back to my first attempt with a new, more critical and confident eye.

It was revised with all the honest observations I’d received in mind, and which I had taken seriously.

Thanks to these reviews, I now have two fine novels to my name (both published in January 2012) and I thank you for your efforts in my regard.

I’m thankful to the Goodreads website as a whole, of course, but readers in the James Mason group in particular, and I relish their insight, frankness and obvious love of the written word.

Sharing an appreciation for James Mason as an outstanding artist doesn’t hurt either.

Thanks again, Howard Loring

You're right about that. It may get diluted really fast. That's definitely a risk. Oh, well, decisions, decisions. Whatever you decide to do, good luck!

It's an urban fantasy story, called Forging Truth. Night before last, it received a 4-star rating on Goodreads. Then, last night, it received a 5-star on Amazon. Yay!

Message that James Mason Member Writer Lynne Marie asked me to post- happy to assist any James Mason Member!!

Hi Rick,

I have this new news about my novel that I'd like to pass along to the members... Please post it wherever you believe it belongs. I'm really excited about it!

First of all, I wish to thank everyone who has purchased a copy (eBook or print) of my debut novel Seahawk’s Sanctuary!!!

Since the last week of December, I have been working on having a second edition printed through Amazon’s CreateSpace. It has undergone a light editing and minor tweaking, as well as a formatting change (that I like a lot better).

The second edition went live on Amazon yesterday! The best part is… Because it’s Amazon, they have produced the same book (6×9) at a lower price!!! The new price is $15.95 or a $3.00 savings over the first edition price. The few glitches that occurred, and I’ve been told these are common in first editions, have been corrected. Full distribution is estimated to be in place by the end of March…

*** Special Note for all of you who collect first editions. The first edition printed through Wordclay will be retired around the middle of March, so you will have approximately a month, if you wish to purchase a first edition of Seahawk’s Sanctuary before they’re gone forever.

This new edition has been uploaded and is available in the eBook format on Amazon and Smashwords at the same price, $3.99. Once again, it will take approximately 4 weeks for full distribution of this new edition to trickle down to Apple iPad, B&N Nook, Sony, and others, but Smashwords does support all these formats, if you can’t wait…

Again, my sincere thanks to everyone who has spent their hard-earned money during these difficult economic times on my debut book… and happy reading to all… For more information, please visit my website at LynneMarieAuthor.com

Thanks,
Lynne Marie

Geoff Woodland | 41 comments I thought this might be interesting to the group.

Last week I received an offer of publication for my book Ice King. The promised contract arrived yesterday.

In the meantime I contacted four literary agents in Sydney asking if they wished to check the contract out and perhaps consider representing me. Being a complete novice in this area I thought they would show a little interest, after all they would have a guaranteed 15% of my earnings. As it is about to be published they do not even have to sell the book to a publisher!

One said they were no longer doing fiction as the market was so hard, another said they didn’t handle historical fiction (this fact was not on their web site) A large organisation said perhaps one of their agents would ring me before the end of the week, (I’m not holding my breath) and I am still waiting for the fourth to reply.

I think I will join the Australian Society of Writers as they have a contract review section. I just need a professional to check the contract and ‘translate’ bits in to English.
I'll let you know how I go on & on & on :-o)
