Review: Eh ! kind of an average book. The romance is nothing special and luckily the cheating was a bare minimum. I think I may read this author again if I get time from reading the best books on my TBR.

I have two purple books selected.

Well and I was going to argue that I thought indigo was a shade of Violet. I want to go with

I guess Indigo is a shade between blue and violet so it can be more blue or more purple just depends on where it is on the spectrum, but apparently it covers it all (I did some reading lol). The cover looks way more purple in real life, but the book I read was a quick read so I should have my review up tomorrow if work isn't busy.

Hitched! very much reminded me of a Jane Austen novel. The terminology used was very British which I admit sometimes lost me, but for the most part reminded me of some of my favorite books. The characters were very Austenesque as well. Roly, or Lord Whellersby, reminded me very much of Charles Bingley from Pride and Prejudice, awkward, yet adorable. Frith was very much Elizabeth Bennet, independent and determined even after she falls for the good looking George Challoner (a nicer Mr. Darcy). Frith’s sister Saffron was flighty and attention seeking just like Lydia Bennet.
I though the story was cute and it was nice seeing George and Frith fall in love instead of the insta-love that often takes place in romance novels. Their friendship turned more was sweet. It was also very nice to see the man making the sacrifice in the end. Normally it’s the woman that seems to give up everything to be with the man she loves, but not this time and that was beyond refreshing. Jessica Hart did a great job bringing these characters to life and creating a believable love story for the modern age that had an old country feel to it.

This is my second book by Sarah MacLean and I have to say she is turning into one of my favorite authors , while this book may not have been as funny as the first but it was a really great romance and super hot too!
Oh and I adore this cover

The entire book had extracts from a magazine article , How to land a lord ! and it was really funny how the women in Minerva house kept on trying to convince Isabel to follow it!
Isabel
Isabel was a pretty unusual heroine , who took care of so many women and tried to be all that they required and self dependent , to hide away and fight against the way her mother had kept on calling her selfish during her last days and the hurt caused by her father. It was extraordinary the way she took care of all who came to her for help, even the sister of a powerful duke , which she knew would be a very big risk.I wish I could have some of her qualities.
Nicholas
Aww! Nicholas ! I was already in love with him in the first book *sigh*.He had been hurt in love years ago and also because of his parents marriage , he thought marriage was not for him, but he saw Isabel and fell straight in love , their meetings were hilarious , first he saved her from an out of control carriage and then he saw her on her roof repairing it wearing breeches *snickers* !

There were such lovely scenes in the book , with Nick and Isabel ,especially the love making was so hot and also really sweet. Both didnt want to fall in love or admit it but both finally did and all I could say was aww!
It was nice to see the way she finally opened up to him and trusted him but it was pretty obvious from the beginning what the misunderstanding would be that would drive them apart!
Oh ! and when they confessed their love <3<3
And of course another misunderstanding occurred because of her past but fianlly........

“Lord Nicholas is a paragon of manhood. And his eyes, Dear Reader! So blue!” Pearls & Pelisses, June 1823
The entire book had extracts from a magazine article , How to land a lord ! and it was really funny how the women in Minerva house kept on trying to convince Isabel to follow it!

In those girls, Isabel had found a purpose—a way to protect these ill-treated, ill-fated women, and to give them a fresh opportunity at life.
A way to prove that she was more than what others saw.
A way to feel needed.
They were proof that she was not alone. That she had purpose. That she was more than the unwanted daughter of a notorious scoundrel. That she was not the selfish child her mother had accused her of being during those final weeks.
Nicholas
Aww!

“Do you? Do you know how much I want you?”
She could not look at him. “Yes.”
She felt his thumb run over the soft skin of her wrist, the maddening touch setting her pulse racing. “How do you know? ” The whisper, dark and coaxing, gave her the courage to look up at him. His eyes were dark—too dark to make out their color in this light
—but she could read his thoughts. “Because I want you, as well.”
It was nice to see the way she finally opened up to him and trusted him but it was pretty obvious from the beginning what the misunderstanding would be that would drive them apart!
Oh ! and when they confessed their love <3<3
“I am thinking that you are the most magnificent woman I have ever known.”
Her jaw went slack at the words, so unexpected, and he pressed on, his hands cradling her face. “You are strong and beautiful and brilliant, and so passionate—it makes me ache to be near you.” He placed his forehead to hers as he continued, “I don’t know how it happened … but I seem to have fallen quite impossibly in love with you.” The words rendered Isabel speechless.
And of course another misunderstanding occurred because of her past but fianlly........

Nicholas St.John. Hear me. I love you. I love you more than I ever thought it was possible to love someone. I loved you the day of our wedding. And the day before that. And the day before that. I said what I said because I was afraid that if I told you the truth, you would leave me someday, and I would be sad and alone and heartbroken because you were not with me.

This was a cute, funny and sweet. Nothing really moving just a sweet little lovestory. Kind of a Romeo & Juliette vibe sworn enemies who fall in love while but at least these two get a HEA.

Book: Beautiful Bad Man by Ellen O'Connell

I loved this book. Basically, I devoured it over a 5 hour period beginning at 1:00 am early Sunday morning through 6:00 am that same Sunday morning. I could not put this book down. Beauitful Bad Man is a historical western romance. Everything we love about romance is included, horses, gun fights, danger, struggle and a strong relationship with the land. But the true story is the history and the developing relationship between the two main characters Norah and Caleb. Their past stories are sad but together they have hope and friendship. It is such a good story.

I think you're right. lol My bad. Sometimes they all just blend together for me.
Ditto to dawn! I will change mine when I get home!

Dang it. Not only did I spaz myself out, but I caused everyone else to do the same. lol Sorry ladies!

This wasn't my favorite in this series, but it was still pretty darn good. Julian was a super romantic hero (thus the title, obviously ;-) ), having been secretly in love with Penelope since they were teenagers, writing love stories and poems and never-sent-letters to her over the years. The book didn't seem to adequately explain why he didn't let her know before she was married, or if it did, I missed it. Which brings me to a certain point, the heroine was married for the vast majority of the book. Now, she has been separated from her husband for the length of the series, and in The Romantic we finally find out why (and it's pretty horrific), but this may or may not be a deal breaker for some readers.
The first 1/2 of the book was spent following our hero and heroine around England, trying to escape the clutches of her husband who was finally demanding she give him an heir. (Our hero, Julian, is Penelope's solicitor, and as such, he was the only one who knew why she left her husband, was the one who arranged their separation in the first place, and was who she turned to when her husband commanded her to return. That's why they were on the run together.) Unfortunately, Julian kept leaving her at "safe" places and the Earl (her husband) kept finding her, forcing a last minute/extremely lucky rescue. When this kept happening I got concerned that I was going to end up throwing the book in disgust, but luckily it only happened twice. Finally Penelope decides to force the Earl to divorce her by having an extremely public affair with Julian. Our hero and heroine finally start to fall completely in love, or technically, Pen starts to fall for Julian, since he was already in love with her.
Julian was probably the sweetest, most romantic hero I've met. His demeanor was so stoic and calm. His "manliness" was less obvious than other, more alpha heroes. I don't really know how to describe it, perhaps it will come to me later, but I did like it. It was nice for a change. Penelope was a bit of a bluestocking, but we hardly got to see that at all.
There was one scene at the beginning of the book with Julian remembering back to when he and Pen were young teens and he first saw her in a light other than friends. I would have really loved to see more of these scenes. Of him falling more in love with her, of him finding out she was marrying someone else, etc. More of this could have raised the book to 5 stars for me.
