Finished Sword and Planet and started The Postutopian Adventures of Darger and Surplus by Michael Swanwick.
I'm currently reading every S&S story I can find published or to be published in 2022. I've read about a hundred so far, and estimate that the final number will come in at around 225-235, largely depending on whether or not Weird Tales #366 makes its promised appearance before the end of the year.
Because this is the most active board and there isn't a Sword & Sorcery movie/media board yet I will post this here. A Red Sonja reboot starring Matilda Lutz.Red Sonja (2023)

Thanks for that. I am currently reading the on-going comic book The Invincible Red Sonja, and it's not my first Red Sonja by far. I am indeed looking forward to this new movie version. I place a lot of trust into the team not messing it up.
@NorbertI'm looking forward to it too. Certainly seems to have some good things going for it. I'm sure it seems blasphemous for not doing so but I have only read one or two issues of Red Sonja in my entire life though I've read Red Sonya - The Shadow of the Vulture a couple times and seen the hokey movie a few times. I hope to read some of the Thomas issues which it is based on before the reboot is released.
Just finished Terra Incognita from DMR books. Loved it particularly From the Darkness Beneath by Howard Andrew Jones, but there's a lot of great authors in there. Highly recommended.Just started Swords from the West by Harold Lamb
Finished Conjure Wife (which was great) and started Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr, something completely different, because it's a selection for a book club I'm in.
Reading Hannibal: Clouds of War, which is pretty good and listening to Fairy Tale which is terrific.
Mildred Downey Broxon was the author to the Eric Brighteyes sequel published by Zebra. Under a pen name
I seem to remember that it was billed as a sequel, but in fact it was a retelling from a different perspective. Eric Brighteyes A Witches Welcome by Sigfriour Skaldaspillir
It was okay. It fills in a lot of places Haggard glossed over in his telling. It also explores what Eric did as an outlaw. Fans of Haggard don’t seem to enjoy it, tho. My review is available here on GR.
I am reading more nonfiction lately, when I actually get time to read. I just released Book 1 of my epic new fantasy series. Book 2 will be out soon! I think you will love it. Give it a look if you get time. Thanks! Great group. https://www.amazon.com/Sword-Three-Ri...

With Zeal and with Bayonets Only: The British Army on Campaign in North America, 1775-1783 by Matthew H. Spring
Just received and read the Ablaze The Cimmerian "The Frost-Giant's Daughter" and added it to the Conan collection. Loved the depiction of Conan's dominating will and passion. Bloody, yes, but like a movie filmed in a lot of darkness, it obscures too much and lets things be sloppy.

I'm reading a ton of epic fantasy--not as good as Sword and Sorcery, but I'm thinking about writing again!
