Lala | 169 comments I ended up reading Grave Sight (Harper Connelly, #1) by Charlaine Harris 2 Stars - 07.08

Harper Connelly was hit by a lightning after that she can find the dead and connect with them. She can tell how they died and what they felt at that moment.

I had hard time to connect with the characters in the book. They didn't seem real and the story was little predictable. I was hoping more, because Sookie Stackhouse series was so great.

I loved the Jasper Fforde book I read ( The Eyre Affair (Thursday Next #1) by Jasper Fforde ) last year, Sass. Clever and funny. I fully intend to read more - preferrably in audio ;)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments i would like to point out that I FINALLY finished a book - lol!

Macwolfe and I kinda did a buddy read of The Gilded Web which she recommended to me - or rather I started reading it, got distracted, she finished it and then I did finally...haha!

I'll have to check more of his stuff out since I liked this one.

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments UPDATE:

Hey Erin! So, here are my picks for the month:

FINISHED:
Kissin' Tell (Rough Riders, #13) by Lorelei James 9/1/12
Chasing Bliss (Nights in Bliss, Colorado, #7) by Sophie Oak 9/2/12
Crocodile on the Sandbank (Amelia Peabody #1) by Elizabeth Peters 9/6/12
Fury (New Species, #1) by Laurann Dohner 9/22/12
Shades of Grey (Shades of Grey, #1) by Jasper Fforde 9/27/12
Bunny and the Bear (Furry United Coalition, #1) by Eve Langlais 9/29/12--Eve Langlias is such a fun writer. She's relatively new to me as I just read my first book by her this year, but she never fails to entertain me. I have to admit though, this was one of the funniest shifter books I've ever read. Miranda and Chase were hilarious. And Eve has the perfect sense of just how far to go! LOL I can't wait to continue this series. The next books looks like it should be very interesting!

LEFT TO FINISH:
NONE! YAY!

Erin, Thanks for such great picks this month! I've got three new authors I'll be trying more of in the future, and I got to read some books by old favorites that never fail to put me in a good mood. You're welcome to pick for me again, anytime! Thanks for making my first PIFM challenge such a success!!!!

MountainKat | 31747 comments Hi Roxy, I finished my second pick this month! I read Hot as Sin by Bella Andre and I really enjoyed it - it was a really nice second chance story! Thanks for the motivation to read it, I wouldn't have picked it up so soon if you hadn't picked it.

~KarenH~ | 11360 comments I finished my third pick for the month, Clear Water this morning. It was a little slow starting for me, but I think that was a combination of getting used to the author's style and real life interfering, and once I got going on it I really liked it. Thanks for another great recommendation, Jane! I'm starting The Ghost on My Couch today - don't know if I'll be able to finish before the end of the month, but it's short so hopefully I will.

Wow - you have done really well Karen! Three books, maybe four... I'm so pleased you have enjoyed them :)

(And Sass has blown everyone out of the water! ;)

I'm so glad you enjoyed them! This is always such a great challenge to find new authors. And the rest of the Eve Langlais series is just as fun as the first.

I love listening to Jasper Fforde's books on audio. They are well done and found myself laughing to myself many times.

Pollyanna (polly8) | 300 comments Hey Gigi I finally finished The Gargoyle and gave it 4 stars, I really enjoyed it so it is quite funny that it took me so long to finish I think it was because I found I could only read it a bit at a time to take it all in. A really fascinating read as it is so different. Thankyou for the recommendations.

I have another of his books to listen to - my difficulty is working it into a few challenges :) (I sort of keep forgetting about it, when I pull my lists together ;) But I really want to listen to it!

The audio versions of his books are really entertaining. I especially liked The Big Over Easy and The Fourth Bear on audio.

I don't think I've ever cut one that close before :) What a sweet story - I loved it! Thanks for all the great picks, the ones I didn't get to this month are all on my short list and I plan on getting to them sooner rather than later.

His books are hard to categorize and put into challenges. I think I'm up the 3rd in the Thursday Next series

MountainKat | 31747 comments Final Results (also posted in message #5)

We read a total of 91 books for the challenge this month, with 59 finishers - a completion percentage of 72%!

There were only a handful of books read more than once. My Liege of Dark Haven, Pushing the Limits, Seduce Me at Sunrise and Shadow Game were each read twice for this challenge in September. Our most read authors were Lisa Kleypas and Nalini Singh, each read six times. Kristen Ashley was read four times. Chloe Neill and Jennifer Ashley had three books read this month. There were nine other authors read twice.

I hope you all had fun last month - I know I did! Thanks for allowing me to host!
