Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments Ok I just went to the first page to check something and I've been added to the captain spot - is everyone ok with that?

message 102: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments LOL, I think you're the best woman for the job. ;) It's all good with me.

message 103: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments Michelle, Morganville was my other choice for this shelf but I have more challenges depending on Graceling, so Graceling it is.

I've read a lot of good reviews about it so I'm looking forward to it.

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments Have you read any Maria V. Snyder? If you like Graceling you'd love Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder

It's an amazing trilogy

message 106: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments I started the Morganville years ago & then stopped fr some reason. A friend asked me to review book 5 for Rachel Caine's last blogtour, so I picked them back up & forgot how good they are for YA. I was out shopping with Hubby 2 weeks ago and picked up books 7-11 on pb plus a Nora Roberts book for £10. Can't cmplain at that wee bargain! I found out a couple of days ago I won the latest in hardback - autographed. So I better get reading!

I'm reading Widow’s Web (Elemental Assassin, #7) by Jennifer Estep just now and I'm almost done with another for a ST so I'll get to them in the next couple of days :)

Lady Jaye (lady-jaye) | 598 comments Hi Ladies. Things are a bit hectic right now. I will be back later in the day to post my picks for this shelf, and the free space read.

I haven't, I wasn't sure if I'd like that series but I keep hearing great things about it. I think I'll have to add it to my list.

message 110: by Judithe, Soap Operas never end.... (new)

Judithe | 6566 comments I REALLY enjoyed that trilogy, too!

message 111: by Julianne (last edited Jun 17, 2012 02:02AM) (new)

Julianne | 354 comments More team name ideas:

Furious Five

Victorious Secret (the "V" cause it's the roman numeral for 5)

Five for Fighting

And I'm still for the Femme Fatales

message 112: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments And I love a good book bargain Michelle...I never can pass one up...much to my husband's chagrin.

message 113: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments Me too! He just took one look at me and went "you can have 30mins and then you're buying what's in your hands - no longer". True to his word he came back and paid for my choices :)

is that the one with Glass and Study?

Oy Cap! Just to let u kno that I've decided on Dark Divine by Bree Despain (the first book) for the YA book!

message 116: by Lady Jaye (new)

Lady Jaye (lady-jaye) | 598 comments Hi Ladies. I'm back with my choices, I think.

Okey dokey.

For the Free Space shelf, I will be reading Hard Bitten, by Chloe Neill

For this week's shelf, Young Adult Paranormal, I will be reading A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. I might change my mind mid-week and go with The Hunger Games or a Maria Snyder book or some other book, but that remains to be seen.

I think I will also read Drink Deep by Chloe Neill for Reader's Choice, but that remains to be seen. Okay. Off to actually read said books now :D.

Happy reading ladies!

Hard Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #4) by Chloe Neill A Great and Terrible Beauty (Gemma Doyle, #1) by Libba Bray Drink Deep (Chicagoland Vampires, #5) by Chloe Neill

message 117: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments I'll update the list when I get home. Remember reader's choice is a shelf, so you need to wait until that's called before reading a book for it :)

message 118: by Lady Jaye (new)

Lady Jaye (lady-jaye) | 598 comments Oh yeah, sorry about that.

message 119: by Judithe, Soap Operas never end.... (new)

Judithe | 6566 comments Janelea wrote: "Michelle wrote: "Have you read any Maria V. Snyder? If you like Graceling you'd love Poison Study (Study, #1) by Maria V. Snyder

is that the one with Glass and Study?"

That's the start of the Study trilogy, and the Glass trilogy is a spin-off of that. Liked both very much, but think Study is my fave!

message 120: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments No worries Jaye! It's a good book and I'd recommend it anyway.

Sorry, missed the Study question... Poison Study, is the first of the trilogy about Yelena and Stormglass is the first in the spin off trilogy about Opal. I agree with Judithe though, the study trilogy is my favourite too!

message 121: by Janelea (new)

Janelea | 99 comments Same, my fav was the Study trilogy too, I only read Glass because I heard it was a sequel trilogy, it was good but not as interesting as Yelena's story.

message 122: by Janelea (new)

Janelea | 99 comments u know, if it wasn't for the fact that i've re-read Raised by Wolves by Jennifer Lynn Barnes.. like... 3 times, i wud've chosen to re-read it again and then use that as my YA choice.

I think for the free space I'll just use whichever one I'll b reading at the time, perfect solution to the free-space choice since all i read is PNR and UF anyways ^__^

That's fine Janelea, just let us know which book and which category it fits into when you decide.

Hi Cathy! It's nice to have you here, I hope your enjoying your vacation :)

message 126: by Janelea (new)

Janelea | 99 comments welcome candy!

hey does anyone know how u compare my shelves with the YA-shelf from d group? I don't want to have to go through every page of the shelf looking for ones that are on my to-read shelf.

message 127: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments I dont know how to do that. I just searched the book that I wanted to read, went to popular shelves (on the right) and used the control-f thing to see if it was on the shelf.

message 128: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments And welcome Cathy. Hope you're enjoying your vacation. :)

message 129: by Janelea (new)

Janelea | 99 comments ohhh, i've gone to the links and clicked the first 10 pages, did control-f and then searched for "to-read".

message 130: by Cathy (new)

Cathy Galloway | 140 comments I will read Goddess Interrupted for my YA book and Tangle of Need for my free space book.

message 131: by Janelea (new)

Janelea | 99 comments Started on Dark Divine last night, will prob finish it tomoro or the day after ^__^

message 132: by Julianne (last edited Jun 18, 2012 11:44AM) (new)

Julianne | 354 comments I'm dying to read Goddess Interupted, I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it, Cathy.

I started Graceling last night and am absolutely loving it. I'm almost halfway through so it should be no problem to finish it today.

message 133: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments Oh and I'm dying for a Team Name!

Can we please, please vote on that soon? :)

message 134: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments I was thinking that myself! I've started Carpe Corpus and I'm 16% in.

Can everyone vote for their favourite name please and we'll see what has the most votes :)

I'd never heard of Aimee Carter before, I'm curious about it though.

message 135: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments Five Femme Fatales has my vote.

message 136: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments Mine too!

message 137: by Janelea (new)

Janelea | 99 comments seconded, or well, thirded

message 138: by Lady Jaye (new)

Lady Jaye (lady-jaye) | 598 comments I am 10% into the Chicagoland Vampires world of beautiful people. (It seems only rich and handsome/beautiful people exist in this version of Chicago, and only the riches and the beautifulest get to become vampires or be born shifters.)

message 139: by Janelea (new)

Janelea | 99 comments i wonder whether any teams have posted up any reviews yet MMMM....

message 140: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments A few have, I've been stalking a few of the other team threads.

message 141: by Janelea (new)

Janelea | 99 comments for real? ALREADY? grr... what are they- bookworms?!
awww well, i'm a bookworm myself, i guess that just makes them megabookworms.
btw, any of the other teams close to getting a stamp them?

message 142: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments Yay! We have a team name...I feel so official now!

I don't think they are close to stamps yet, I think it's just a couple per team....and yeah, there are some hardcore readers around here...one person I know of can read 40-ish books per month. I wish I could read that fast.

message 143: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25913 comments No one is close yet, but my team has 2 reviews done :)

message 144: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments Everyone always takes it easy in the first few weeks by the time we are close to getting a bingo the teams will have their stamps by Monday or Tuesday at the latest, the final week they'll have it by Sunday lunchtime! And I'm not kidding :)

message 145: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments LOL, I'll have to plan for some early Sunday rises when it gets close. Or I suppose it would be Saturday nights when the shelf is announced.

It'll be early rises for me, it's often about 4 or 5am my time ;)

message 149: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25913 comments Nope she's not kidding.

I've noticed some teams already have 4 reviews + some already have freespace reads done. Enthusiasm is a wonderful thing :)

message 150: by Michelle (last edited Jun 19, 2012 06:17AM) (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments Very true Sandra! I'm taking it easy almost half way through my YA, I would have been finished but I had a more important bok to read first ;)
