Vlad is my favorite guy in Cat's world. I loved Once Burned. I hope you do too!

Magic Burns by Ilona Andrews
Read: 9/1/2012
Rating: *****
Shelf: Magic
Review: I liked this book better than the first one. The world was very confusing in the first, but I think I've got the hang of it now! Will definately be reading the rest of the series and possibly rereading them as well!

Title/Author: Vampire Dragon - Annette Blair
Series: Works Like Magick #3
Read: September 2, 2012
Rating: ★★★
Shelf: Psychic
To-Be-Continued? yes
Review:
I didn't like this as much as the first [Naked Dragon]. The elements are basically the same, with the whole learning curve thing. I did like Darkyn and found some of his antics amusing but for the most part it was just too similar to the first one. I particularly liked Zachary but since all the dragons are male, he probably won't get his own book. Also he's only 12 so it would be a while even if it was possible.
IMO Puck (the talking bird) saved this book from being only 2 stars. He was just hilarious.

I have nothing against Vlad, it was Leila I didn't really care for. But I guess if Vlad was by himself in the book, there wouldn't be much plot...not that he needs a plot!

lol Deidre...I don't know if Vlad needs a plot either. Just as long as he has people to talk to where he can make his fun, witty comments to. Leila bothered me a bit at first, but I grew to like her and I think she makes a good match for Vlad...as good as anyone can I guess.

It took me far too long to read this series and now in only a couple of months I have finished the most recent book. I love everything about this series, but I admit that I was a tad apprehensive about Riaz getting his own book. I wasn't that into him when he was introduced in Play of Passion, same with Adria, but I have to say their book was great. There were so many wonderful moments, both heartbreaking and exhilirating between them. Now I'm bummed because this series is now on my hurry up and wait list with the next book nowhere in sight.

Thanks for being such great teammates! Perhaps we'll see each other around...and Suzanne I'll see you in Words with Friends this week.
