I'm out of town on 9/27 and working the first weekend of October so I'm out.

As of right now, I'm open for either date! I probably lean toward October at this point, but I'd be fine with either.
Jackie! It will be good to see you again :) Long time, no see! I like October best, but I'm not limited to weekend days at that point. If a weekday works better for more people, we can do that too.
I don't think I'll be able to make it this month for either the Sept or Oct dates. Bummer! But I hope everyone else has fun! Also, I'm going to Chris Hardwick's standup show on Sept 19th...is anyone else going?
Is anyone interested in tabletop RPGs? My roommate is starting up a game and we're still looking for some people. It's Legend of the Five Rings. We are going to play this Wednesday night.
I'm going to the Geek Girls Brunch decked out in Tardis and could meet after the brunch. The 4th is a wee bit tricker for me, but I seriously love both books and really, really want to try and make it. Badly.Basically - long story short (too late) - don't schedule with me in mind- just do what works best for everyone and I'll do my absolute best to make myself appear.
Hey, the game I mentioned (Legend of the 5 Rings- tabletop RPG) is actually going to start Thursday the 25th. If anyone is interested in joining, let m know. I know there was one or two people interested from the Geek Girl Brunch so I'll have to ask them too.
We never finalized it because I think we had only 2 people available. How is the 3rd or 4th at 2 pm? We don't have a Genuine Joes reservation, but we could meet there on the patio, or at Fat Cats, a new place by Blackstar Co-op that's part coffee/tea bar, part ice cream parlor. Austin Java is always great too! Any preferences?

I don't get out much because of the kids, and when I do I'm South so... I'm not a good suggester of meeting places.
Okay, then how about we try Fat Cats just in the name of trying out something different and supporting a new business? Here's the menu:

Alana, you said the 4th is tricky, should we do Saturday, October 3rd at 2?
anyone else already at Mothers for the Geek Girl Brunch? I didn't realize how close I live to it and I'm here super early :/

That day works for me too.
Anyone interested in a Halloween-ish game night? I'm thinking something like Zombie Munchkin, Eldritch Horror, Betrayal at the House on the Hill, and/or Last Night on Earth. We could meet wherever's convenient: Dragon's Lair, Mothership, Emerald Tavern, or my place. Weeknight, or Weekend, doesn't matter to me, just whenever there's an interest. Any takers, and if so, when is good for you?
Love this idea! Definitely can't do the weekend of the 24th, and Saturday night the 17th is also out...otherwise pretty flexible I believe. Weeknights work too.
This Friday or Saturday works for me. Emerald tavern works pretty well for this and I kind of know how to play Betrayal plus I own gloom
I'm sorry I didn't get back to y'all... back pain and family illness has made the last week or two ugly. I was slapping on icyhot patches like they were going out of style and smelling of methol for days.
Cool. So how's this Saturday then, the 10th, at like 4? Emerald Tavern. Does that work for you, Salima? And everyone else is welcome to come play too!And that's okay, Alana, I hope everyone is feeling better!
Would anyone want to do Alamo Drafthouse afternoon tea? They serve tea and cakes and play romantic period films (Jane Eyre etc) this months its Crimson Peak (del toro) and Bright Star.
Emily wrote: "Would anyone want to do Alamo Drafthouse afternoon tea? I love that they have a movie and tea time series.
Shit, ignore my question. My feed had the oldest posts at the top so I didn't see the group was still active.
Hey guys! I'm heading to Austin Comic Con today...anyone else planning on being there? If so, let me know and maybe we can try to meet up!
So with the hiatus in November and December what's the consensus? Should we break as well and just meet for games occasionally or do our own read?
I'm up for games, and Sat the 14th is Geek Girl Brunch. The theme is comics and donuts, but we'll be gaming afterwards!
I could potentially meet in one of the first few weeks of December, but I'm also ok with taking a break/playing games when people are free. I may not be able to make it to the game events but if there's one on a weekend I might be able to go!
Anyone interested in tabletop RPGs and/or Dresden Files? My roommate is starting up a game. It's a lot of fun- you and the world can be as weird as you want.
Megan wrote: "I am!! No idea how to play but always wanted to."That's perfectly fine! I've only played this a little, but my roommate has run it a lot. It's easy to pick up. I'll be sure to send you a message when I know for sure he wants to schedule it.
Happy New Year! The bookclub is back lets meet this month! Hangout is the 26th how about meeting on the 23rd? Genuine Joe's front room had been working.
Sarah wrote: "I think I can be there! Is the 23rd a Saturday or Sunday?"The 23rd is a Saturday. Not sure of my availability yet, since hubby ended up with a whole new job just before the new year. New boos, new schedule... all kinds of crazy.
Yes let's do Jan 23rd at Genuine Joe's at 2pm I have not booked a room but we can just meet in the outside area.
