Austin, TX: The Reverse Cowgirls
Sorry I missed guys hope it went well. I work nights and slept late :/ Too bad cause I read the book this month.
It was a good group and good discussion! We talked about our next meeting and decided that since Nov/Dec months are always a little weird with the holidays, that we'd do an in-betweener meetup on Sunday, Dec. 14 @ Genuine Joe, 2pm. That way we're not bumped right up against Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays. So plan to talk about November's books as well as December's if you get to them!
Here's the link to the event on Goodreads, feel free to share with others: https://www.goodreads.com/event/show/...
Sorry I missed yall yesterday (babysitting nephew)! I actually read the book this month and would have loved to discuss it - most of it I liked, some of it I didn't. Overall, I thought a good choice - such a different world! I'll be out of town Dec. 14th, but hope to see yall next year :)
HEEEEEYYY! Just a reminder that we have a meetup scheduled for this Sunday Dec. 14 @ Genuine Joe, 2pm. Since we didn't have a meetup last month we'll be talking about the November pick, the December pick, and whatever else we want to! ALSO, feel free to bring books for a book swap! See you all there!
Hope to see you all there today at 2pm! Books to swap, coffee to drink, and maybe some other goodies as well!
I'll be there but a little late. coming back into town from a wedding.looking forward to meeting everyone!
okay, found it. I won't be able to come though, I'm moving this weekend. it was fun meeting y'all last time! next month hopefully.
Anyone interested in a game night? Some of us will be at Emerald Tavern Thurs night (1/22) at 8 if you're interested! :)
Hey there, not sure if there are any Richelle Mead fans out there but she will be at book people 2/22 at 2:00 pm for signing the ruby circle. I'll be going if anyone would like to join.
Lets do the 2/22 then but I'll make the time 4pm so you can go to the Rachel Mead signing if you want.
I never post here... but is any one doing puppy bowl this weekend? I am out at a friends house and I want to know im not alone.

Hey, question for you guys! Have you heard of Austin Panic Room and/or Puzzle Room Austin? (austinpanicroom.com, puzzleroomaustin.com)
You basically get together a group of people who get locked in a room, and have to solve a series of puzzles or mysteries in one hour to get out. I've heard it's really fun, as long as you aren't claustrophobic, and I wonder if anyone is interested in getting a group together to try it? Panic Room is downtown, Puzzle Room is on the North side (Anderson Lane), but they cost the same. Panic Room can take different sized groups, but Puzzle room requires 10, so groups may be joined if they aren't large enough. Has anyone done this before?
Katie wrote: "Have you heard of Austin Panic Room and/or Puzzle Room Austin? "Oooh I had heard of the concept but didn't realize there were some in Austin! I used to play the crap out of point and click games.

That sounds amazing! I'm in if y'all want to. It looks like both have minimums, though the Puzzle Room will let you go in with any number if need be.
I've done Austin Panic Room and it was AMAZING!!! They have two different sized rooms - 8pp max and 12ppl max. I did the 8 person room. They switch the themes/clues every few months. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! I would be down to do this again if we did the bigger room (otherwise I can't do a room I've already done).Puzzle Room sounds cool. I had never heard of it before now but I would love to do it!
The puzzle rooms sound really cool! Unfortunately I don't live in Austin so I really only come into town occasionally, particularly for our hangouts :-) So I probably won't be able to join in...but let me know if you get a group together and when you're going!
Yes this would be awesome! Is anyone having trouble finding the main this month? I can only find it on amazon paperback for $9. If everyone is having this problem maybe we can agree to read the alt or pick our own alt?
FYI: Austin Public Library has a digital version of Story of O that you can download to your kindle for free (or get the free kindle ap on your phone/devices), AND also has a dowloadable version of the audiobook. If you don't plan on reading it, I understand. It's horrid, but makes for good discussion.
APL also has the professional, so I'll look for that too!
Heather wrote: "Maybe we'd be able to go after 1 of our hangouts."That's a great idea! Then maybe Sarah could go too...if it's not running too late for her to drive back to College Station.
Should we try for that? Puzzle room would be on Anderson Lane anyway. They have a 2 p.m. (if we wanted to go before) or a 6 p.m. if we want to go right after. Open to 10 people.
Katie wrote: "Heather wrote: "Maybe we'd be able to go after 1 of our hangouts."I'm terribly interested, but have too much going on this month to do it. Besides, my husband just informed me yesterday that apparently Sundays are wiped out for the forseeable future by changing his schedule without even consulting me. So, now, I am in charge of the kids every Sunday. Not a happy camper at all.

Or you guys could go without me, of course.
Re: Emily, I was able to get the book through my library, but I'd be open to reading an alt for our meetup. The Professional would be good! What does everyone else think?

Well, that's disappointing! I bet we can find a day. We've also done a game night that we could do again, and everyone is of course invited.
I've been totally out of the loop here for months. (Trying to change that) However, I would like to say if there is going to be any puzzle room action, I want in!
Heather wrote: "We've also done a game night that we could do again, and everyone is of course invited. "I would love to do a game night again! So fun :) And Melissa, we would love to see you back soon!
I don't think I'll be able to make it to this, but it seems like fun.http://drafthouse.com/movies/afternoo...
Ooh, the Boyfriend and I are going to go to that, on the condition that I do something with him that he wants to do in the future :)
