Yes, Jackie, I think it is Genuine Joe's! Does anyone have a preference for Saturday or Sunday (the 15th or 16th)? Maybe if we set up an event and tweet at Felicia Day and she's in Austin for SXSW we'll have a surprise book club visitor! I know it's unlikely but we can dream, right?

Great News!Felicia Day is in town and can meetup tomorrow, Friday, 3/7 at 5pm for drinks at the Butterfly Bar on Manor! I've been tweeting with her and this is for REALZ.
So, sorry to sort of derail the scheduling convo, but please please please come join us tomorrow at the Butterfly Bar. She can't stay very long, so get there early!
DM me for questions, directions, etc.
Oh, damn. I thought this was going to be on Saturday, but it's happening right this minute. Oops. Hope you guys are having fun.
I'm thinking of hitting up the Game of Thrones exhibit tomorrow at the Austin Music Hall. It's free and open from 9am-9pm 3/7-3/11. Anyway dm me if you wanna meet there or text me if you have my number already.
Hey everyone! I wanted to remind everyone of the table we have reserved at Dragon's Lair on April 5 for Table Top Day. 2-4pm. Thanks for making the reservation Katie! Yay! Also, Tiffany and I have a mutual friend who hosts a weekly game night at his apartment and he's going to try and do an all-day thing for Table Top Day too! I think he missed the window for securing a table at Dragon's Lair, but he has quite a game collection himself. I talked to him and he was totally cool with extending the invitation to you ladies. He's still making plans, but I gather it's going to be a drop-in-when-you-can type of deal, maybe bring snacks or something. Hopefully we can stream the G&S hangout, too.
I'm always reminded a bit of the VF meetups whenever I do the game nights (with a bit less sex talk), so I think you all would fit in well with the group. I will be there for part of the time, and Tiffany will, too, I think. If anyone is interested in extending your gaming that day, text me, DM me or tweet me @jackfp for details.
Lastly, do we want to schedule another meetup for April to discuss the reads? Also, if any of you watched the hangout last night, Felicia called us out for not having a name :) So we should brainstorm a good group name at that meeting!
I'm throwing out April 19 since I'm out all other weekends :) It's right before Easter though, so does anyone have any other dates in mind? Genuine Joe's?
I'm out of town on the 19th, but would be free Sunday 20th. I would definitely love to jump back into this, haven't read the books in a couple months!
This would be my first time going but I have a wedding that weekend. April is a tough month to plan anything.
So how many of us should I expect on Saturday at Dragon's Lair? They will also be streaming TT on a big screen, and they'll have Steve Jackson games (Munchkin) and the creators of Castle Panic there!
Hey I like you keep you guys aware of geeky offerings locally. This May 16-18 Dallas Fan days basically has a reunion of Firefly. So far they have all the major cast except Gina Torres. Check it out. I'm definitely going. http://www.fanexpodallas.com/
I'll be at there Saturday! Also, re: Emily's last post - I'll be going up with a friend (and Emily I think!) to the convention that weekend. My parents live about 15 minutes from the convention center AND they'll be out of town that weekend so free lodging! If anyone is interested in splitting gas money and carpooling/caravaning let me know!
OH, that is such a tempting offer. I might be up for that! Can't wait to see you guys Saturday!FYI: I'll have Munchkin, Zombie Munchkin, Star Fluxx, Monty Python Fluxx, Back to the Future (the card game), and Firefly. I will have Cards Against Humanity (SO FUN, but we aren't allowed to play that there unless we go into one of the side rooms, because I've been told it isn't "family friendly," which is the absolute truth...although I've played it with my family. Feel free to list anything you want to bring so that we don't have doubles! Also, they will likely have some games we can borrow if we want to try something new :)

Do we want to go ahead and set a time on Sunday the 20th for a meetup this month? That's Easter, but looks like Sun was better than Saturday. Genuine Joe's, 2pm?
I'm reading (and LOVING) the book, but can't make it on Easter. Also, Alicia Silverstone is at Book People on the 19th at 3, and I have to see that!
Hmm, well I don't think its worth reserving a room at Genuine Joe's if its just going to be 2 or 3 of us. I can't make the next weekend, but I feel I should throw it out there to see if more of you can...? How does the 26th/27th look for you all?
Jackie wrote: "Hmm, well I don't think its worth reserving a room at Genuine Joe's if its just going to be 2 or 3 of us. I can't make the next weekend, but I feel I should throw it out there to see if more of you..."Sundays really always work great for me, the 27th would be good too :)
I have like 3 books to read this month, gotta get crackin'!
I'm bummed because I don't think I can make it this month after all..and I'm going to be doing research in Sweden this summer (which I'm super excited about!!) but that means that I'll have to miss our meet-ups until August :(
I've never attended one of these meetups but I'd like to come to this month's! Either Sunday (20th or 27th) is fine by me but if forced to choose I'd pick the 27th.
I haven't been to one of these either, but I'd loved to meet up! I just joined the group a few months ago and I'm also new to Austin. The 27th works for me. :)
Cool! So already more for the 27th than the previous weekend. Emily can I toss this one to you to head up, insofar as we ever really have anyone in charge? :)Sorry to hear you won't be able to make it for a while Sarah, but hopefully you'll have an awesome time in Sweden!
I should be able to be there on the 27th. It all depends on whether or not I can tear myself away from the Hogwarts is Here website.
Let's say apothecary (on burnet) its quieter with less people studying. I'll be there with a purple kindle and my VF shirt for those who haven't been to the group yet. 4pm Sunday the 27th
4pm sounds perfect considering I'm participating in Dewey's Readathon on Saturday. Is anyone else doing the Readathon?
Rachelle wrote: "4pm sounds perfect considering I'm participating in Dewey's Readathon on Saturday. Is anyone else doing the Readathon?"Never heard of it. I googled it though it sounds great. Good luck
Anybody interested in a BYOB painting night? There's an awesome place on Burnet, they provide everything you need for one fee, and you bring your painting home with you. Monday, May 26 they're doing a TARDIS!!! Here's the link, if anyone is interested in going with me, I think it would be a LOT of fun! There are other themes/paintings that look great too, but this one looks right up our alley. Sarah? If you haven't jumped the pond yet, this would go great with your DW stuff! http://www.paintingwithatwist.com/eve...
Sorry you guys can't make it :( If anyone else can, Carol and I will be there with Sangria and brownies!
Meet up this month? Would June 22nd work for everyone? We could also do a watch party on June 24th. Or we could do the last Sunday June 29th
I might be able to make the 29th! I'll have family here the 22nd and I'm seeing Diana Gabaldon in Dallas on the 24th....but also....I've talked up GISHWHES (The Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen) a LOT, and it's almost here! It will be around the 1st week of August this year, and registration will be starting in around 2 weeks. Anyone interested in joining team Into the Hellmouth? Feel free to pm me with any questions about GISHWHES or the team, but seriously, it's SO MUCH FUN! And it benefits a great cause!
