I will really try to make it back into town in time. I actually read the book this month, so don't want to miss meeting up if I can!
I've got the front room rented out for 2pm. There's a $15/hr tab but that should be easy with a group of a few people. So excited to see you all again or meet for the first time!
Yes we'll have to do it next month! I like sticking with a set schedule like Sunday before the google hangout.
Well hell. I'll be out of town that weekend. But you know me, I hardly ever get a chance to read the books anyways :) I just go for coffee and conversation. So set it for that Sunday if its easiest. I like the idea of a set recurring time every month.
So I realize I haven't participated since the first official hang out (which oddly enough was also a Jacqueline Carey Novel and just Jackie and I) But I plan on trying to make this next one. Carey is pretty much my favorite author and I've already read the first book. So If I can, I will be there, wherever it is being held now.

I'm bummed I won't be able to make it this month because I really liked the books this month, but I'm not going to be in Austin that weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to join in next month!
I'm so bummed....haven't gotten the book in at the library yet, and I could have sworn it was available when I put it on hold almost a month ago.
I actually won't be able to attend after all as well. I'll be working at the Texas Book Fest on Sunday. My second job has a booth there.Maybe I'll see some of you? If anyone goes on Sunday stop by the Bookwoman booth and say hi.
I got it on kindle, and I'm halfway through...but I'm so not enjoying this book. Is anyone going who can tell me it's worth it to finish?
Yeah i thought a set date would be a good idea if I gave people enough notice. Wanna keep the last sunday of the month?
That sounds good to me. It falls on the weekend before Thanskgiving next month and two days before New Years Eve in December...so it avoids holidays, but we should still post whether or not we can make it when it gets closer.
The last Sunday of the month is during Austin Comic-con...I got a weekend pass this year, so I'm not sure what I'll be doing that Sunday. Is anyone else going? If there are enough people maybe we could meet up at comic-con!
Once again I am going to Austin Comic Con this year!! I have a three day pass too. Let's plan to meet up. November 24th is the Comic Con if not enough people are going we could meet up whenever it's over somewhere downtown. Post if you're going!
I'm going to Comic Con too, but I was planning to go Saturday the 23rd. That's also the Day of the Doctor..but I don't have cable (BOOOO!!!) It really should be a comic con event to broadcast the 50th on a screen...but so far I only see theaters showing it that Monday, after it's already been out 2 days! I don't know if I'll be able to avoid spoilers, especially on a con weekend, for 2 days!
I know, I'm also hoping they'll screen it!! I posted on their facebook page...Maybe if a bunch of people contact them they'll set it up...I've also heard that in some places bars/restaurants will be airing it live, but I don't know if that's happening in Austin, and if it is, where that would be.
FYI: I'm returning Endless Knight to the Millwood library branch later today, so grab it up if you need it!
Katie, good news! There will be a screening of the 50th anniversary at Comic con! http://www.wizardworld.com/dwh50ancee...
I will also be there all weekend. If anyone who's there wants to meet up, text me! And if you don't have my number, message me and I'll give it to you. So excited!!
It's in meeting room 12, which presumably is in the convention center somewhere. We can form a team of up to 6 people. I know my boyfriend and I want to do it, so if you guys want to join we'll have a better chance of knowing the answers!
Got it! Sarah, I'll text you and let you know if we leave beforehand, otherwise I'll plan for me and my husband to be there!
Hey guys! New year new hangouts. Anyone still in to discuss the books? How about using Google Hangouts? What do you guys think about our little group picking alts through either taking turns or voting?
Sorry, haven't checked this as often since I'm a little behind on my reading! I'm still up to discuss the books, although I haven't finished the main book this month yet. I can really only do weekends, even if it's a hangout, but if others want to do hangouts during the week, that's cool too. Also, I got some fun new games for Christmas if anyone wants to do a tabletop day.... I have Firefly the game, Monty Python Fluxx, Star Fluxx, Back to the Future (the card game), Cards Against Humanity....and I still have Munchkin and Zombie Munchkin ;)
What say you, Austin?
I can only do weekends, but it's cool if everyone wants to meet during the week. I'm definitely up for continuing our in-person hangouts! Although I'm not sure if I'll be able to meet this month, since my schedule right now is kinda crazy. But in general, count me in! I could do in-person or Google hangouts, whichever everyone else prefers. Katie, at some point it would be really fun to try out one of your new games! I've seen the Firefly game and am pretty curious about it..maybe we could meet up and play that one! Of course, as I said, I may not be able to meet up in January.
Anyone else interested in continuing the hangouts?
FYI: I requested a table online at Dragon's Lair for Sat, Apr 5 from 2-4 for 4-10 people. If that doesn't work, or we need more room or a longer time, let me know and I'll try to adjust! Or anyone can call to adjust (reservation under name: Katie Braze)Just let us know!
Would Saturday the 15th or Sunday the 16th work for people? We could meet at that coffee shop with the little meeting/study rooms (I can't remember the name).
