R4: Team #2 ~ Second to None

I will be reading the

3.5 * for me.
It took a little while to get in this book, but once I did it was a fun read. My big question: (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

As all of her books, I loved this book as well. This book is full of short stories with all the characters I love from her previous books. The stories fill in between the whole books. The last story was sad (because a beloved character passed away)and I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, but turned out to be a wonderful ending to the book.

Good Job!! :D

Finished

I can easily get lost in Ms Abe's writing, but I must admit, I felt this one dragged a little. Maricara and Kim were more likeable as main characters than Lia and Zane (previous book in this series), but their relationship felt distrustful til the end, which made their connection a tad unbeleivable, IMO. I'd been warned about this book not being the greatest in the series, so possibly because of that, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting.

I'm reading along and I kept thinking "I'm missing something." I know I read Dead as a Doornail and it wasn't THAT long ago. So, I went and looked for what I may have missed (thank you Goodreads for numbering the short stories). For anyone reading this series who hasn't gotten this far or who wants to read it- you need to read

Please, please let this be the last of the Pelts too. I'm done with that storyline. I like the new love interest for Sookie. Will see where that goes.

Read the book:-) I don't want to spoil anything for you!

Me either! you are not alone :-)

I'm hoping

I liked this book a great deal. A lot of drama comes to a head here, between Chess and Terrible, and then there is the fake 'triangle' with Lex, smh. the story was good, and I feel like I've got a better grasp of the worldbuilding and what Chess' job entails (I was still slightly confused). But I really, really liked this one. ★★★★
I am still reading River Marked, just in case I can't pull a switch on the group.

I finished Ceremony in Death. This series does keep getting better! This time, Eve investigates murders involving Wicca and Satanists. Even though it was easy to tell who the bad guys are, there were a couple of red herrings that kept it suspenseful. Looking forward to more! ★★★★

These are just so freaking readable!! Now I have to wait goodness-knows-how-long for my next fix of Charley and co. I was a little disappointed with book two, so it's with great pleasure that I can say I have absolutely loved this third instalment in the Charley Davidson series. Ms Jones has me hooked, her characters are often funny, sweet and brave. The action and plot in this book seemed to come more to the fore rather than it being centred on Charley and Reyes or maybe it's just that I've become attached to the secondary characters just as much and so I find myself as emotionally vested in what happens to them as between Charley and Reyes. I can't wait for number 4!!
