Week 8 - Roseanne
Read: 4/29/13
Rating: 3 stars
Review
I went back and forth on whether to give this 2.5 or 3 stars. I went with three because there were some great moments in this book. However, there was also a lot of stuff that just wasn't working for me. I had a hard time reading the parts of the book that flashed back to Dale's relationship with Clare mainly because he's cheating on his wife with her, and I just couldn't bring myself to care about the issues he and his mistress were having.
Despite the rough flashbacks, the parts of the story that take place in the present were very engaging in my opinion, and I very much enjoyed them. I would have liked it if there were a few more creepy parts since this is supposed to be a horror novel, but there were still some parts that did have a definite creep factor. All in all, it was an interesting read, if not a phenomenal one.

I've really enjoyed this challenge! I found some new authors whose books I really enjoyed. I think I mainly added to my TBR rather than taking away from it, but oh well lol. :)
How's everyone's week coming along...we are laying new tile in the kitchen. I should say my husband and son but I picked out the tile and IMO that is the hardest part...lol
We are having a heatwave and its exhausting. Otherwise. all is well. I don't envy you the tile laying work but it will be worth it when it's done.
My week is going well, although I'm all mixed up on what day it is, lol. I took Monday off, so right now, I'm thinking it's Tuesday since it's only my second day at work.
Well my busy tax season and crazy work hour schedule is officially over...I have a day off today...Will be nice to get caught up on GR and just chillax...Finished my book ...review up shortly

Review:
Nuala gets intuitions about things that happened in the past and with Dermot's help, and the help of his family and friends... they always end up solving the mystery. I thought the book sounded interesting a bit of Celtic mysticism, mystery, history, romance. All things I enjoy well this time it fell flat for me.
I hadnt read the first book Irish Gold: A Nuala Anne McGrail Novel and at times I felt lost regarding their relationship. There were times I wanted to just throw the book across the room because i was so sick of Nuala's use of "eejit".
i liked the history of Chicago and the information about the Civil War. Will I read any more books by this author or in this series. Not any time soon.
Its been fun playing...Enjoyed the hunt for books every week...Is everyone playing in the Scavenger hunt?
I just realize that's it, we're all done. It as been an honor to play with you ladies and I hope our paths continue to cross.
