Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 716 comments I'd feel bad for my bank account if I didn't read them eventually, lol. I had bought the first couple of them a few years ago. So I have to give them read at some point.

Review: I really enjoyed this book. I really wasn't expecting some of the things that happened. I don't want to say things that will give things away. What I can say is, young beautiful girls are dropping dead. As the story goes on, my mind keeps on thinking oh it's this, oh it's that person. But each guess I have is wrong. There were a few hey I never saw that coming but a few 'I have a feeling' moments that I was right on.

Very vague review I know, lol.

Vi | 943 comments I just caught up (finally) with Mercy Thompson series yesterday. I was planning on starting Fair Game hoping that it will fit today's shelf and it does! Yay! So I'm going with Fair Game (Alpha & Omega, #3) by Patricia Briggs for Urban Fantasy shelf.

And we have a 3-in-a-row!

This entry in this series has a few sad points for me. I wondered what would happen with Gregor (don't get me started on those vampire laws). I liked how Cat and Bones were figuring out their relationship, but I felt the make-up was to fast and thought more explanation was needed. I think it would have been nice to read some of it from Bones' perspective. Looking forward to Spade's book.

Rachel-RN (rachelgoodbyeborders) | 1368 comments Looking at the shelves and I almost always start at the back. On pages 525-532 these books look like they are shelved -1 and -2 times. Not sure if it's my eyesight (better not be) or Goodreads is being freaky. (I go with #2). Anyone else notice this?

Review: Loved it! Spade is one of my favourite characters from the Cat and Bones books, and this is all about him...and Denise, of course! The story is full of action, with romance thrown in, and also links to the Night Huntress series. Yet another series that I must read...

Done 10/1 4* Grave Sins

I really like Cin. I'm sad that there are only 3 (and 3 novellas) books in this series. I will add this- if you read this series- I highly recommend reading the novella in Strange Brew before this one. If you don't, I don't think it spoils anything, but you will understand things a little better. (And I wouldn't get into my rant about novellas either).
I liked the story line. I liked the growth in Cin and Micheal's relationship. Things aren't always perfect and I felt this showcased that well. Crazy queen (or is she?). I picked out the villain early on, but the how is the surprising part.

Can't wait to hear what you think of it. I love the movie and I've had the book on my TBR for ages :)

Vi | 943 comments So what is everyone reading?

I'm reading Mystery Man (Dream Man, #1) by Kristen Ashley - I'm totally not liking the main character, Hawk and that is almost ruining my enjoyment. The only saving grace is the female lead who I can like very much.

message 172: by Nairabell (new)

Nairabell | 634 comments I'm still reading Some Girls Bite which I am enjoying but my sister made some massive drama yesterday which trashed my reading time :(

Also I've decided the US cover Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill is vastly better than the UK one Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill .

message 173: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments That is another series that I've to start. I'll be looking forward to your review. I agree that the US cover is better - UK covers looks like a cheap photoshop job.

Is that the sister who got married earlier this year?

message 174: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 716 comments I agree the US cover is much better then the UK one, another series that I need to get my hands on.

I'm reading Night Watch still for this shelf pick, and I'm reading Claimed (Brides of the Kindred, #1) by Evangeline Anderson too.

Yep. Thankfully I only have the one. Any more and I couldn't cope. I've actually read and reviewed it before here but I'll post a quickie review here once I'm done, although so far it's just as fun second time round.

Rosina | 1714 comments I am trying to get Sins of the Soul (Otherkin, #2) by Eve Silver finished tonite...so I can review and then move onto one of my other reads for Bingo....

I might change my urban fantasy pick cause I am off again travelling this weekend and might need a smaller book to take on the plane instead of City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3) by Cassandra Clare ...

Still considering Hard Magic (Paranormal Scene Investigations #1) by Laura Anne Gilman for my free space read....

Review: A great story, quite similar to BDB (with demons rather than vampires!), but I enjoyed it. Strong characters from different worlds usually make a good story, and the rest of the series will be enjoyable if they are as good as this one!

Nairabell | 634 comments Sandra wrote: "Nairabell, I totally agree, and unfortunately I've got the UK cover. Yuck "

Ditto :( Sometimes the UK covers are okay, occasionally they're better and other times they just suck. This is a sucky one.

Rosina | 1714 comments Book Sins of the Soul (Otherkin, #2) by Eve Silver

Shelf Favorite Author
Finished 04/Oct/12
Rating ★★★★

Review This is the second in the Otherkin series. I loved the first one and it was the first time I had read anything by Eve Silver. She went onto fave author list. The first one had a cliffhanger of an ending. This story carried right on.

This story is about Alastor and Naphre. Alastor one of four sons of Sutekh, the Underworld god of chaos and evil. Naphre an Underworld enforcer who has a troubled past. She turned her back on the Daughters of Aset only to sell her soul to another demon and essentially ending up being what she so despised.

My problem was connecting with Naphre's character. I grew to like her more once her past was explained. Only wish that had been a bit earlier in the story.

Will defineitely continue on with the series. Its great writing. Quirky, humorous dialogue.

Review: I loved this book! I liked Anna in this book so much. This book really highlights the difference between paranormal creatures and humans. And the way people perceive different races. Charles' conflict was resolved a bit tamely. And the ending - totally didn't expect. I can't wait for the next book.

I know!
Dead Reckoning (Sookie Stackhouse, #11) by Charlaine Harris Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger Sexiest Vampire Alive (Love at Stake, #11) by Kerrelyn Sparks Demon Song (Blood Singer, #3) by Cat Adams Strange Neighbors (Strange Neighbors, #1) by Ashlyn Chase
