Which movie(s) did you watch?

Which movie(s) did you watch?"
The Perfect Getaway, it came out a few years ago. She saw it couple of times already, I never even heard of it before. It was really good. I can see why she wanted to see again, I'll probably check it out again myself.

Review: I'm a big of Grant's alter-name Seanan Mcguire but I was really hesitant on picking Feed up because it has zombies. I'm not a big fan of zombies. But I was hooked with few pages of Feed.
It's 2040 and zombies are a reality and infectious. Bloggers Georgia and Shaun Mason run a media site and they are selected to cover the campaign of Senator Peter Ryman who is running for President. There were info dumps in the initial chapters that weren't worked in that gracefully into the storyline. In spite of that, the world created was very interesting. The explanations given for the rise of zombies seemed much more real and the little day-to-day things are much different and potentially dangerous in their world. The narrative is primarily first-person by Georgia Mason and in this case, it has worked really well.
There were some potential squick factors in the book but Grant didn't go down that route. Though, I might have read too much into it. I didn't much like the ending but it is good that Grant went that route and I'm eager to see how the trilogy proceeds further.

Review: I haven't really read many dystopian novels, so this was a nice change for me. When I had first started I was unsure if I was going to like it but as I got further into it I hooked.
Trella, the "Queen of the Pipes" as her fellow srubs call her, did not believe that there was something else, something/place better, the gateway as they call it. In her mission to prove it's non-existence or even existence, meets Riley, an upper, and discovers that what she has always believed isn't as it seems.
Still some stones uncovered, really looking forward to reading the next book.
Definitely a book I can see me re-reading, need to pick up physical copy.

Review: This book was one of the first UF books I've ever read and it was an introduction to the genre. It is also a comfort read. The second time reading it was as good as the first. I didn't like Elena at first but came close to loving her at the end. I'm still in the fence about Clay but having read other books by KA on Clay's childhood, I can appreciate Clay more. I flat-out loved Jeremy. As such, it still remains of my favorite UF books.
This book is on the group bookshelf

Review: Kushiel's Mercy is the conclusion to Imriel's Trilogy and the sixth book in the Kushiel's legacy series. The blurb at the back of the book didn't really do the story justice. The twists and turns in this book were really unexpected. It also tied up all the loose ends in the Terre Ange world with a bitter sweet end. The thing I sort of like about Carey is she gives a sort of epilogue-y ending. Instead of leaving with war won, with a bitter-sweet ending, she leaves us with a completely sweet ending even if it's a bit corny. Even with all that, I still feel the first trilogy is much stronger and better. I'm now having this urge to re-read the first one. Phedre is a stronger character than Imriel and the concluding book was just stunning for me. Carey has woven such a beautiful world with Kushiel's legacy series that I don't want it to end.

Review: So wow Grave Witch, an urban fantasy with out vampires or werewolves. Kind of refreshing, not saying anything bad about the vampires and weres just nice to read something different. I really enjoy my urban fantasy's that involve magics, and this one is different then ones I have read before.
A Grave Witch is what Alex Craft is, she has the ability to raise the dead, well a shade of their former self. Her clients tend to be people wanting to find out information on family history/ wills disputes etc. But she also works with the police/DA in murder cases, finding how they died and who killed them.
Definitely have a new book crush to add to the ever growing list of fictional characters I'm getting giddy over, Falin. Oh my, love how he is so sure of himself, his cockiness, the eye brow arch, LOVE it!!! *Swoon*
And then you have Death, who I can't wait to learn more about. I'm sensing he's going to be the romantic one, :)
Can't wait to pick up the next book.

I haven't even started my favorite author book yet, I'm bad I know. I wanted to finish up Grave Witch first.

Review: Another excellent story by Kresley Cole! The story continues the story of Rydstrom - the Demon King who lost his crown to the sorceror, Omort. He is captured by Sabine, the Queen of Illusions, who is under orders by Omort to seduce the Demon King. The story develops into a love-hate relationship between the two main characters, whilst bringing in elements from previous books in the series. I loved it!

Overall I enjoyed the story. I liked the cast of characters. I enjoyed the heroine- I thought she was ballsy. The steampunk element was a minor one; this felt more urban fantasy to me. I wasn't sure how much I would like this, since I usually avoid alternate history themed books, but I did get into the story. It did take about 1/3 of the book to really get into it. The other thing is the British slang (ie fag=cigarette) took time to get used to. I look forward to the next one.
