Jenny I have to disagree, having had to live through the experience of living in the country ruled by Blair !!
I didnt like him when he got in. He had five pledges when he got in - every one some trendy idea and not one based on supporting industry/economy.
He did nothing without first checking through a focus group etc or adding some spin to the story via the unelected but all powerful Alastair Campbell. He seemed to end the idea of a collective Cabinet government. He took us to Iraq based on a lie. One of our heroic weapons inspectors, David Kelly who had worked in Iraq, ended up dying in dubious circumstances but after an enquiry by the Blair government where he was put on the spot. Anyway I could go on. I am sure there were a few good points, such as modernising the left wing but I am afraid our country has a greater gap between rich and poor than ever before and you would never suspect that there had been so many years of a left wing government.
