You really hit the nail on the head with this review. I completely agree.
I felt the same way. I just had to give up.
The animal comparisons are non-stop and really disturbing
I suspect I'd vomit over just the basic premise: romanticizing the lives of people living on a gigantic plantation built on expropriated colonial land.
Kevin - it is gross. She calls the people who live on "her" land her "Squatters." And they work on her coffee plantation, too, though it's unclear whether they are paid or not (I suspect not) and they include children.
