Jbutticcigmail.Com Thank you! I saw all the 5-star reviews and thought maybe I was the crazy one, but not even halfway through and I'm writhing in agony. I don't know if it's the first person or present tense that irritates me more, but I was hoping the protagonist would get ripped apart by a bear, I found him so annoying and unsympathetic. The author tried so hard to make the chicks swoon, but I was hurling. All the psychological clap trap, pseudo-intellectualism, phony sensitivity (he barely knew the murdered student, yet was grieving and hell-bent on finding her killer?) gave the impression this was a debut novel, a bad one. Stick to sawing people in half on the stage.

Alex Lewis This is a dreary thoroughly unbelievable work. While I respect the author for getting it published, it is astounding that it got good reviews. It is a good test; anyone who gives it more than a three star review should be disregarded as a source for good reading.

Scooby Doo Theo, his name was Theo, but you are excused for not remembering. I agree, this novel was dreadful.
