I had the same thing happen to me with the 1st present tense. That tense is my nemesis, but I didn't mind it here or in the rest of the series.
Well, we couldn't have diverged more on stars, but it has nothing to do with tense. :)

I loved this! O Captain, my captain. Are you going to read more of the series? I’ve read Grimspace twice, but none of the other books. It felt like a complete story with very few unresolved issues.
I’m kind of with you. Enjoyed the book, liked how it ended, but didn’t feel compelled to read more of the series.
