I am a nurse who worked for 27 years in Critical Care. I assisted in building a heart program at the local hospital. Trained for 6 weeks at the Cleveland Clinic for this program. I was terminated after becoming ill and now I am disabled. For 8 weeks, I was n a hospital induced coma. A transfer to a Pulmonary Unit at another hospital for weaning off the ventilator. I earned a tracheostomy. Afterward, I was transferred to a Rehabilitation hospital to learn to walk again. During the hospitalization, I pulled the tracheostomy tube completely out and had to be transferred to the local hospital. I had also developed 3 blood clots, one to the lung. After I was stabilized, I was sent back to the Rehabilitation Hospital. The tracheostomy tube did not have to be replaced. I went home in April....more
