I'm looking to read Romance/Christmas books. I've had a run of bad luck as I've read crap after crap after crap. I want a book that is really good (great story and terrific characters) and worth my time and money. I don't want a book that's so goody-I'm looking to read Romance/Christmas books. I've had a run of bad luck as I've read crap after crap after crap. I want a book that is really good (great story and terrific characters) and worth my time and money. I don't want a book that's so goody-goody or drowning in sugary sweetness or where everything in life is perfect. I know, I'm asking a lot but that's me. Thanks Pamela...more

Wish I could spend my days lounging by a pool/beach with a ton of books. My guilty pleasure? A well-written, off-the-charts mega-hot, sexy romance novel adorned with a smoking hot male specimen. I'm so not a fan of YA & NA novels so please, DO NOT recommend them to me.
What drives me INSANE:- The words "broken" "damaged" - second-chance love and fake marriages - predictable & boring! - saying "I love you,"/getting engaged after sex first time, or within 24 hours of meeting. - heroine over 30 & a virgin, hero a complete man-whore. - new phenomenon of male billionaires under 30; Step-Brothers (cue eye roll) - I love you but not worthy of you bullshit theme. - H/h with the most stupidest names (Toronto, Nearly, Alabama, September, Bryndle, Tango) - let me vomit. - over-the-top demanding, controlling, ignorant, narcissistic alpha-males. Hell no. - heroine No. 1 in her career, has more than one profession, an expert in all field(s), multiple degree(s), has years of experience all by the age of 30. Also kicks ass, drop-dead gorgeous, & loved by all. Bloody unrealistic & full of shit. - TSTL heroines, or worse, confident, smart, & intelligent women who become TSTL after having sex with hero. - H/h too lazy to use or get a condom but have sex anyways because they tell each other they're clean. - she's on the pill, or she's unable to have children, then TA DA! She's pregnant. (Cue eye rolls.) Give me a bloody break! Or she vomits every morning & thinks she's got the flu. Seriously? - plots that are inconsistent, don't make sense. Why authors assume their readers are stupid & will accept anything they write is beyond me. - constant change of POV with no telltale. - numerous spelling, grammatical errors. We all make mistakes (I've made many), but seriously, PROOF-READ it! Not once, not twice, but three times. Ask a friend, a stranger, whoever. PROOF-READ it!...more
