It's only taking me so long to read through it because I've recently started watching the series and don't want the fic to spoil anything for me (since in the beginning it kinda goes through a few things from early eps) just in case, even though by now I might be far enough it won't matter? Anyway! So far at nearly 28% it's been really good. I think if you can get past the beginning to where Sam and Dean have their reunion you should enjoy it.

I've watched all but the current season of supernatural so thankfully i'm safe there. :) it looks really interesting and i've been recommended it a couple times now, but i have a lot of other long fics to be read too. so i don't know when i'm going to get around to reading it. is it really angsty/dark?

Lucky! Yeah you'll be totally fine in that case XD. haha I totally get that, there are so many delicious and long fics out there, not to mention books. Uhhmm I'm going to say 'yes'. Just as the synopsis claims, this is indeed a "VERY DARK FIC" and there is a certain section where it gets particularly angsty (view spoiler)[the point when Sam finally figures out what exactly happened to Dean (hide spoiler)]. The warnings shouldn't be taken lightly. That being said, despite the angst it wasn't (so far) enough to make me even tear up. Which might be heartless, but you already know from the synopsis and the beginning of the fic what happened, it's just a matter of the details. However, if (view spoiler)[having those details rehashed to you from the POV of the victim and then finding out more details from a different angle is going to disturb you too much, then well. Beware, and maybe put this fic off until you are in the mood for dark and angst. The psychological trauma Dean experiences is very present throughout (hide spoiler)].

I love angst and I'm usually okay with it getting pretty dark, but I gotta like mentally prepare myself haha :) I read the synopsis but I just wanted to get someone's opinion so thank you. I'll probably end up reading it soon. xD
