Sungguhpun harus kuarungi samudra duri ini sekali lagi, sebagai si alif dari golongan yang paling daif. Sebagaimana perempuan penerbit nafsi itu kaucuri dari tulang rusukku saat aku lelap tertidur.

Sepanjang pasrah kasrah telah mengubah rambut di kepalaku menjadi setumpukan uban. Sepanjang kematian demi kematian sengaja kau timpakan di atas kepala anak cucuku. Adakah sempat kaudengar aku berkeluh-kesah?

Meski aku mahfum belaka, ya bila karena semua itu aku tak akan pernah kau perkenankan singgah ke rumahmu lagi. Kecuali kau biarkan aku datang sebagai perempuan lecah, jaharu yang paling hina atau fakir papa yang kelaparan.

Sekalipun telah letih jiwaku meretas sepi, hingga percik lelatu itu menitik sekali lagi dari ujung jarimu. Bukan sebagai yang garib, yang gaib atau yang hatif. Melainkan karena semata-mata semesta cinta.
