“The three types of bone resorption tests are: N-telopeptide (NTX). This marker measures the small molecules of bone collagen being excreted through the urine. High levels of NTX are associated with rapid bone resorption and low bone mass in both men and women. By testing every several months, it’s easy to monitor and determine the effectiveness of your nutritional therapy. Substantial drops in NTX indicate a reduction in bone loss and less risk for fracture. C-telopeptide (CTX). This is a similar marker to that of NTX, but CTX measures a different part of the collagen molecule. This marker can be tested from either a urine or blood sample. Deoxypyridinoline (DPD).
