Perhaps it is simply the indignity of it, the unwelcome reminder that I am whatever it is that I am. As ludicrous as it is, I resent that anyone could presume to observe and taxonomize me without my permission or consent without at least consulting me first. What’s more, the impudent observer might be wrong about what they see.”
