There's definitely value in this book for men. The author admits any shortcomings in her research but I think still does a good job talking about shame associated with both traditional genders and their similarities. I will say I think her assessment of how shame affects men and women is based on overarching traditional "American values" type experiences, so it may or may not apply to the reader depending on how open s/he might be already.
